Unable to connect after 20 secs

When I try to connect to server it says "unable to connect to server" after about 20 seconds. My game was working fine before downloading the new patch for version 24. I've tried disabling UAV, firewall, and antivirus, and tried running the trace route and it says that the problem MAYBE the firewall..but it was working fine before the new patch. What should i do next?

    Pleace click the Verify button on the launcher, and check for any programs like PeerGuardian.

    If the problem persists, please download and install nmap. Go to C:\Program Files\Nmap\zenmap\zenmap.exe, double-click that file, and in the resulting window, type in the command "nmap -p29000 -PN pwigc3.perfectworld.com", click scan, and wait til you see the word "unknown" pop up, and tell us what results you get..

    I don't know if this matters or not but i have windows vista, but i already tried running program as administrator.

    Well, at least that means you've got connectivity, and that rules out hardware firewalls or router/isp misconfiguration. Have you recently installed or upgraded any security software, such as PeerGuardian, Norton, Comodo, et all?

    i am at a university i think i have updaded my mcafee anti virus and windows defender

    If you're running Mcafee Firewall, please add an exception for the Elementclient.exe and the IP addresses it needs to use.

    Your university itself might also be blocking the game through their own firewall. If adding the exception to McAfee doesn't work, try asking your school's network administrator to open port 29000 for use.

    I have the mcafee antivirus but not the firewall and i've tried disabling the firewalls my computer have. The game have been working until recently, you think university would just now block access?

    Stranger things have happened; it's not too bad of an idea to block off unusual ports if there's been a lot of use. They may also be throttling you to the back of the queue, and increased use just recently cause the issue to pop up.

    hmm.. i don't know if that's the problem, i've tried playing this game off campus and it does the same thing.

    i ran a telnet on my comp and it said i could not connect to the port 29000.

    isnt about that, got same problem, get dc 24/7 since last day, the game worked fine before the new update. but now i cant get online i get dced directly. this isnt only 1s problem, its everyones.... and i know it isnt my firewall who is on the way, because i dont got 1 lol.

    yes same thing for me after new updates it says unable to connect after 20 secs, but GM and Mods suggested that it might be the university, and so far I am unable to confirm. If the problem is something else i'll be glad to know.
