Issues while extracting files

Hello,

Today I have downloaded PW client and I encountered a few problems.

1.
Actually, after downloading it, it says that some files are 'broken' while I extract what I have just downloaded..
I tried to download the game's client on countless sites but I always get the same error while extracting... Everytime I had to wait an hour, and i was kinda mad when I saw that it was failing all the time.

2.
I have downloaded the 'PW downloader' on the site, and while extracting, it says that the pack1 is broken.

I tried with 7-zip or winrar (thought it was that kind of program which was failing) but apparently it's not the source of the problem...


So um, is there any client i can d/l (no torrent please) safely without having this kind of issue?

edit : i had the game on this pc a couple months ago and i had no problems to download/extract it...

    Actually the utorrent is probably your best bet.

    It sounds like you're getting corruptions midtransmission. uTorrent (or other robust torrent clients) will be able to deal with that problem. It's usually minor, and Ryuuzaki has a good guide on the matter, and his Alternative Method for Corrupt Files using Direct Download (with a quick tweak for the changes to the installer) may be able to save you a remarkable amount of time :
    If you used the Direct Download method, rename the zip file you already downloaded to "Perfect World International.exe" (i.e. remove the underscores).

    Download a bit torrent program, such as uTorrent.
    Download the torrent controller and open it with your torrent program.

    You should then be asked where you want to save the file. Browse to the directory where the original Perfect World International.exe file is located, and click OK. The torrent program should then start checking the integrity of the file and correct any corrupted files. You can also right-click on the file in the download area, and select Force Re-check to make extra sure.

    This shouldn't take much time to do, unless your connection went seriously funky.

    Pack 1 & 3 are broken files... Gonna try to d/l them...
    And torrent sucks so far... at least to me =/

    Is there a downloadable client that works somewhere ffs x_x *loses control*

    I have the same exact problem with the install. I originally tried extracting using winrar but it came up with issues so i checked the files using 7zip and it says that data1 is corrupted (all this after attempting to get the dl to work in the first place since none of the mirrors worked for me) I then renamed the file as instructed taking out the _ and tried the torrent but it starts downloading the whole thing again...am I missing something? Cause I really really really really really do not want to download the whole thing again. (oh and it was the direct download that finally worked for me and yes it did download just fine from there)

    Update:

    4. now close utorrent and the download
    5. copy your corrupted zip file that you have downloaded before to the folder that utorrent created and overwrite that file
    6. open utorrent but do NOT start the download, instead rehash it by right clicking and selecting 'forece recheck' (or something like this, currently do not have bittorrent client installed)
    7. after awhile (about 3 minutes if u have a fast computer) it should say u have near 100% download
    8. continue download


    it brought me to 99.6% complete and I continued download as it said to do...slow connection but so far it is downloading just fine.
