Just curious about weather the developers really thought this through or not. Every mob in the game does higher magic damage than physical for there stats is there a reason that i can stand lets say a wizard in front of a mob and tank it longer with mage armor than a bladmaster with high physical defense? This just doesn't make since most of the mobs don't cast magic but there attack does it anyway its very confusing.b:laugh
Whys the rum always gone:eek:

Magic damage dealing mobs generally have a slower attack rate than physical mobs and can be killed before their spell is cast. Normally when I'm fighting magic based enemies I'll get hit perhaps once every 4 kills depending on whether my slow succeeds, or they move towards me during channelling. Compare that to archer mobs who often hit me 3-4 times if my slow fails(I gave up on kiting once I got Force of Will); and their attack is instant.
Melee mobs I cant really speak for as I very rarely stand there and tank them, but I'm sure they have a faster attack rate.I like pie0 -
actually m8 all mobs deal magic damage even except the non ones and its higher than there physical damage dealt. I know this because i have tested it with different armors on different characters in the end a barb wearing arcane armro takes less damage from mobs than a barb wearing heavy armor very messed up.Whys the rum always gone:eek:0

I think the intent was to not have traditionally-weak spellcasters get jobbed easily by mobs, but instead ended up giving them and their armor/accessories an advantage. =(0

Actually m8...
uhh... actually say what?
Your post made little sense to me.
Are you trying to say that a barb wearing arcane armor takes less magic damage than a barb wearing heavy armor? b:surprised Umm considering that arcane amor has higher magic defense than heavy armor I'd say you've hit the nail on the head.
And just because a mob is listed as having a magic attack doesn't mean it actually deals magic damage otherwise why dont we all just wear arcane robes.I like pie0 -
I know exactly what you are saying, Adacanavar and not sure why the other poster does not get it. Anyway, the first time I actually died to a mob I was paying attention to was while tanking Krixxix as a level 39-40 BM. I died with him a little over 1/3rd down on HP. this with an HP charm, pots and treats, etc. I point this out because my girlfriend without a pet soloed him without any trouble until I returned from Archo on my raptor. He had a smidgeon of life left when I arrived and so she didn't even need me there heh.
So, I feel your pain and would like an explanation as well. As it stands, I am crafting light armour to wear instead of my heavy to increase my resistences some. I guess this is the reason I have been seeing more and more barbs running around in arcane gear? I can't imagine having to waste points in magic. I had hoped it was some sort of comical trend and not serious. As I proceed through my 40s, I am beginning to think otherwise.0
