Graphics Issue

I don't know what the problem is with my computer and this game, but no matter what I do it still looks really weird!
I tried all possible settings on the Games client setting box, and none of them seem to make a difference. 16 bit, 32 bit, etc. :S

    This could be the result of not having the drivers for your video card updated. Listed below are
    some websites in which you can get the latest drivers to update your video card.

    Your video card is 10 to 1 busted, buy a new one. Thats classic signs of a fauty card.

    Also what card is it, does it even properly support 3D?

    It is a s3 Graphics Pro SavageDDR :S Apparently the last driver update is from 2003.

    So what do you guys reccomend I do?

    I think there's a GPU driver update for that available here.

    nVidia and ATI both have excellent offerings right now. Without knowing your computer setup, it's difficult to give suggestions, though -- are we talking a laptop (in which case, changing a graphics card is usually not viable), a computer with an AGP port, a computer with PCIexpress ports, or a computer with only PCI ports. If you're not comfortable checking yourself, if you know the make, model, and identifying number, we can try to look it up for you.

    S3 Savage is still a PCI card isnt it ? I hope I'm wrong and its AGP cos daaeeeemmm that a OLD card. Fact is, its never gonna run PW poperly.

    You can pick up a AGP Geforce 6200 for next to nothing on ebay. I dont think you get much higher than that for a AGP slot and 6200 should handle the game with some reduced settings here and there. If ur really lucky you might see a 6600 AGP but they where made for only for a limited time in the AGP type.

    I wouldnt recomend a ATI/AMD card at all for AGP slots becos its only really since PCI-E that their cards are any good.

    gattsuru, I downloaded the update in the link you sent, and less black lines popped up, but now more white blocks popped up and the scariest thing ever.

    Ugh. Last time I saw something like that, the code was adding too many ones for to a memory address. Baring S3 Graphics having a major change of heart, I'm afraid your GPU is unlikely to be able to run the game properly. Reducing your settings to their most minimal level may get rid of further lines, but will present other issues.

    you can get an AGP ATI 3850 for like $100. imo the best AGP card made
