P2P vs Cash Shop

I have give it to PW for using the cash shop payment theory. You people are paying far more in a cash shop than you ever would in a P2P game. But at least in a P2P game everyone has a chance of getting good items not just the ones with money to burn on a game.
I am sure game makers are making a killing off the cash shops and that is why more and more of them are being developed. I myself will go back to a P2P game which is more fair for everyone on a budget.

To be honest except for these "events" >.< the items you can buy form the zen shop are not too over powering they merely make grinding and some quests easier, in fact the only item that makes the game far easier is the Silver / Bronze Charms.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

This was obvious as day, really.
I'm getting pissed off at "heiroless hero" tanks causing party wipes in noob low level fb 49's because of the heiro prices.....[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

As a BM I am almsot never with out a trusty Heiro (as you may gather I am a lazy man) ... I actually do some times feel slightly amzed when a tnak doesnt have a heiro >.< ... which is **** of me but meh there have been a few times I have bought heiros for other people to get us through quests[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

I hate P2P passionately and prefer cash stores any day. Why? Because the moment I don't want to give them cash anymore, my chars and everything I ever did in the game are gone forever. With the cash shop I still can come back to the game and play, even if I don't play it regularly enough to warrant paying for. And with P2P you also always see that clock ticking: Tick, 10 cents gone, tock 10 cents gone...
I really hope the P2P model would just die. And I predict it will - because as you correctly pointed out, people leave more money in a cash store than they would spend for monthly fees.Danyelle - Nocturne Faction0 -

Do you mean to say that your team lacked the skill to do the dungeon without hieros or that the dungeon can not possibly be completed without them?0 -
Lol tis much easier to do it with the heiros though isnt it, god I remember when I did my FB39 I was a better tank than our Barb tank (level 47) .. plus he kept wussing out saying I cant tnak this I cant tank that, moment we gave him a heiro he bucked right up.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Pick your poison. I play this game and PSU- a P2P game. Use cash to get items to make things easier or do it the old fashioned way. Whichever works best for you and the people you play with.
Doing it the hard way makes you a better player in the long run, but to be honest, I don't like sitting and meditating just to use my skills overs and over. I'd MUCH rather just use a charm and keep getting that MP back ASAP. You can't quite cut it with HP and MP potions. The cool down is too long and doesn't ever seem to give back enough.

Well F2P games are designed/geared toward much grinding which makes life difficult if you do not buy from the cash shop but then again they are free to play forever and you don't have to worry about wasting the subscription if you don't feel like playing (for example in LOTRO I subscribed for 6 months in advance then i only played for a month which wasted 5 months of subscription). But that's true if you have money to burn on a F2P your game will be much more enjoyable. I think the politically correct term now a days for F2P is micropayment/microtransaction games.
P2P on the otherhand constitute a subscription service (much like cable or your telephone) and if you don't play/use it much then you are actually wasting money.
It's great that people have more choices.0 -

Now that's bull. P2P is infinately better, and almost no p2p games wipe accounts.Do you mean to say that your team lacked the skill to do the dungeon without hieros or that the dungeon can not possibly be completed without them?
Not really, no. Our core priest was there, who did this fb at 49 with our core tank just fine. This time we used a new tank who ironically was level 60...
Tank's fault, not the party's.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

P2P is better there's really nothing to discuss here. In the long run it is cheaper and everyone has the same chances of advancing and getting good[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Wrong. P2P games will never die. With the average P2P MMO costing around $15 per month, which is around 50 cents per day, it is a lot more affordable than "free" to play MMOs where choosing not to use the cash shop puts you at a disadvantage.Ren - Lost City wrote: »Not really, no. Tank's fault, not the party's.
I find this interesting; that a level 49 tank with hp charm survived whereas a 60 tank without one didn't given the same healer. Maybe the tank was incorrectly specced, or perhaps the healer slacked off a little since the tank is higher level, or there might be some other reason why. It's definitely possible - albeit more difficult - to tank fb bosses without an hp charm.
On a side note, I don't blame tanks for not being able to afford charms. Most fbs cost the tank tens of thousands in repairs per run, plus they also need money for skills so I would assume they don't have a huge amount of money lying around.0 -
You people all quote US dollars which lends me to believe your all US people $15US =$22.70AU here so it depends on where you live if i buy $50 here its upwards of $76 for 50 zen ouch
P2P your locked in no pay no play... forever
Here you miss a payment no problem gonna be tough but you can still play it, if money is tough goto PvE no guardian dolls needed no Hiero HP/MP needed for PvP(as much).Plus here all Cash shop items are tradeable so make enough ingame money and you get the gear too plus can purchase Zen in game.. cant really beat that but the prices are **** i agree..
As stated above this game is keyed to the cash shop and yes at higher levels HP/MP are really needed (baring certain classes) Bosses are ridiculously hard for no gain, Dungeons the same and try being a BM or WB without Charms and many mobs on you..
In PvP you can drop EVERYTHING (Cash shop included) if your Pink to Red (white maybe) so Dolls are needed..except quest items,Bound or stated no drop..0 -
I can play when I want, the time that I want and I never pay anything.
I need a CS items? Lets farm and buying it from another char, its that easy!
Hieros make games easier, that its. Theres no other item that make game easier! And eventually in every guild going to TW there will be hieros for everyone. To lvl up normally u dont need hiero. Im 50, its hard, and yet I live without hiero. Will get harder? Yes, but hey, im enjoying such a beautiful game without spending a single cent.0 -

this is a fail server - on other PW servers it's unheard of to see L60 tanks without hieros.
* Do not advertise other MMOs on these boards *0 -

Wrong. Your account stays forever and your characters. You just can't access it until you play. I never heard of a p2p game that deletes your account
While it's true you can buy CS from other players it also takes your time and hard earned ingame money to do so. So if you're not paying with real money you're gonna work ingame for that money. In p2p games you don't have to do that. Everyone works equally to get everything[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

You guys are all over looking a HUGE factor.
All the p2p games still have a TON of people paying to buy gold off 3rd party sites. (which they then use to buy the so called 'earned' equipments)
F2p just makes that legit.
Honestly I rather the game company make all the extra money so they can keep the game nicer and spend the money on development, instead of all these money going to some sweat shop in an Asian country.
Thumbs up for this high quality (best f2p I seen) f2p + cash shop game. I see it as being able to test the game out for free then decide if it's good enough for me to drop money on it.
Don't forget p2p games require payment to access the game at ANYTIME - for f2p, I can pay $50 for charms and if I stop then come back 3 years later I would still have them and be able to play just as well.
Oh, and most p2p games cost $40-50 to purchase, you can get pretty far in PW with that amount.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

CS is WAY better!.,
I admit it's an Awesome Game but,
That's the point it's just a game...
Not everyone has the money to pay for a Game monthly or yearly...
and with the Cash Shop, you can donate and get items or etc. anytime you want.
I have personally seen many Games Fail miserablly because they went P2P...
Nobody really want's to pay money for a game when they Got bills to pay at home.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0
