Manual Patch Not Working

I have downloaded the patch files but when i try to use them the following happens

1 . Reading the new patch..
2. Update server connection fails. please try other update server.


This same thing happens no matter what patch i run or if i just run the launcher directly

After which it asks me to update or to cancel i have tried both options update will try to connect to the server it downloads one file stringtab.txt then says it was inturupted .

If i go through the whole update ordeal it finaly says i have the latest version of the client eventhough it says game ver. 1 in the top left

Then it gives me the option to choose auto update or cancel in a box that says client needs to update please select method

if i choose update it then tells me a previous update was inturupted continue or restart update? i have tried both (update and cancel)

if i then choose either continue or restart update it trys to download badwords.txt which seems to take a long time or at least looks like its doing something
however it tells me file download appear failed retry or cancel auto retry in 3 sec. (none of these options work)

no matter what i do or what options i select it will not update the client and i have done this even with the patched files

if im doing something wrong please let me know

    Have you installed the East Asian Language support pack?

    yes the east languages are installed any idea of what i can do to fix this or if im doing something wrong i am able to download the patch but the client still says game ver. 1 shouldnt it change to game ver. 18 or something when i run the patch

    same ive got exactly the same problem and ive got vista but ive managed to get a language pack for it is there anyone out there who knows the solutions ive been searching for weeks

    Your firewalls/routers might be blocking port 29000 (i think this works for patch server too).
    Try going to your firewall/router and forwarding the port 29000.

    ive tryed all that ive had one of the helpers emailing me for the last 3 days and he has no help what so ever does anyone have a solution!
