Anti-Spying Mechanisms

I'm pretty sure that it is not the intention of developers to allow people to spy on other guilds.
To be honest, spying cannot be fully prevented. But people can so easily spy on other guilds that I sometimes wonder if the developers ever brought this into account?!
I think there are certain facilities that can be implemented in this game to at least prevent a spy to enter the guild, hit G, copy your guild info and vanish!
One way is to implement a guild screen lock mechanism. The guild leader can specify how many playing hours should pass after a player can see the guild screen since his/her admission in the guild.
I know this can also be bypassed somehow but it can at least prevent the worst type of spying!

how can people easily spy on other guilds? Can they invite themselves into the guild?0

Are you serious?
Are you ****ing serious?
Christ we had a discussion about this already.
SPYING IS COMPLETELY USELESS.
Grow the **** up and worry about 007 somewhere else.
There are absolutely no gains whatsoever from spying.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

As much as I hope what you say about the uselessness of spying is true, your posts did nothing to convince me whatsoever. All you did was to add some bulk to the thread.
Do you really think anybody likes to waste time and make hell for his guild mates to prevent spys? But why should I agree with your immature, defensive statements which lack any measure of usefullness?
Don't tell me go look it up as I already did. Just search for spying and you will find dozens of irrelevant topics each with 15+ pages to read mostly filled with similar childish statements made here. If you guys don't even bother to give a link to the mysterious discussion you were talking about why even bother to post anything in the first place?
Anybody can make an alt and get it to level 20+ in half a week which makes it legitimate for entering many guilds. After they get in, they can see the guild screen.
And how is spying useless? If somebody knows of your weakness, they can exploit it. If somebody confirms that "faction xxxx are breaking apart" the faction becomes an easy target and when a faction wants to choose between 3 territories belonging to 3 other factions to attack, they would most likely attack the one with less manpower. All this info can be gained with a single press of the G key.
Now if you wanna refute this, I'm more than glad to listen. If you want to make another useless comment, no thanks, don't even bother posting as I really don't have the time.0 -
If your faction is breaking apart, then you don't deserve to hog territories anyway.
If you come up with a strategy that others can run just as well, its useless.
Imagine in other games that I shouldn't mention, we had our matches *broadcasted*. The entire friggin' server knows your strategy and they know your entire friggin roster. So what?
If you're so afraid of being "chosen" by stronger guilds to attack on, then make your own faction stronger. I rather have spies in my guild. Because our faction is so good the spy would probably quit his own faction and start playing the game instead of pathetically role-playing James Bond.
In your scenario the badass guilds send a team of spies into smaller guilds to see which one is the weakest target? That sounds like a pretty fail guild to me they will probably /quit irl soon.
First spies... whats next? Sending girls as enchantresses to other factions to e-sexually entice high level men of the guild to quit? Possibilities for retardation is endless.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

You take it a little too far I assume. My scenario was a lot simpler than what you were suggesting here. Nevertheless, that was an answer, which means progress!0

lol ya maybe the really weak and small guilds b:chuckle b:chuckle
like you said yourself, getting to 20+ is half a weeks work, which is why any big guild will have a requirement of much more than lvl 20

As irrelevant as your post is, if you think the greatness of a community lies in its minimum level requirement then you're in serious trouble my friend.
I would doubt the maturity of any guild which has such an ideology at their forefront.
In our eyes, the greatness of a guild is not determined by its average character level, the number of green glowing stuff in their inventory or its number of territories for that matter.
A friendly atmosphere without any regards to race, gender, language, age, game pace, playing style and character level which gives more priority to morals than "strength" is what we strive for. If a guild manages to capture all the territories and have half of its members at level 105 but doesn't have such characteristics, its a big failure to us.0 -
if your guild is as you say it is, there would be no incentive at all for anyone to "spy" on it whatsoever.
No one cares about the randy carebear guild.
Casual guilds don't get territories.

Here's the thread.
-What weaknesses are you talking about? Fire is weak against water? This isn't ****ing Pokemon.
-If your guild was breaking apart, other guilds would be able to tell easily, of course this is assuming that you're not the nonfactor guild I think you are.
-If you can't figure out where a guild is going to attack TW-wise you should uninstall now to save yourself the trouble.
-Pressing "the G key" as you said displays nothing more than the classes and levels of the members. Unless you're Panic advertising bots in your announcements, you're not going to gain any "guild secrets" or "battle plans". TW strategies are universal and pretty straight forward. They're not very hard to figure out at all.
I honestly don't know what you're trying to get at here.
Not only will they not implement anything even if they do consider your proposition, there isn't a need to begin with.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Silly me I forgot the lvl 40+ population is all the spawn of the devil0 -
Pardon me, but most guilds DO recruit higher levels because they want to stand a chance. If that level 20 is such a valuable asset to your little community, help them level up. A level requirement does not mean that friendships are not forged. That's pretty closed-minded. It's not at all wrong for a guild to want PROOF that the player is active and isn't going to quit the game after a week. You have a buddylist for these people. Use it.
In PvE, it may not be "oh-so critical" that your guild have a higher population of people able to participate and hold their own in pvp situations because pk mode is optional. TW is still there, though, and you're not going to win if half your guild can't even unlock pk mode yet. Nondiscrimination does not equal teamwork, either. To add to that, if everyone is scattered around different levels, they'll have a harder time participating in things together. An example would be FBs. Let's say a lowbie wants to do FB19, but the only people online atm are 30-70. What does that mean? That means if the lowbie wants to do FB19 with their guild, they're very, very unlikely to receive drops from the boss. There is nothing wrong with a level requirement, and having one doesn't make a guild inferior to your own. Nor does having different end goals.
What the hell do you care about spies for? Unless you talk about your plans or talk **** about other guilds in guild chat constantly, what's that even going to do? They're right, it's easy to predict TW patterns, and if you hate another guild they're going to find out eventually anyway. A guild that's falling apart is fairly obvious as well. Knowing another guild's levels doesn't tell you how good they are at playing the game and their character./Haiku/ -- Cognitive atrophy at its finest.

Wow, it is arrogantly immature jack***es like you that seem to get a kick out of ruining the game for others. Burjis asked a simple question and flaming him about it just goes to show the kind of person you are and probably the guild your in/run. You have fun with your uber self and your pixel territory. We will go back to our "Carebear" faction. I can guarentee one thing. You may own Territory (whichever faction you are) but with an attitude like yours the members you have will grow thin of your attitude and leave. Our "carebear" faction will stay strong for years to come with or without territory. There is more to this game than territory wars.......[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

The reason people are bringing up TW is because there's no logical reason for a faction to spy on another faction in such a manner unless there is competition between the two. Since you guys don't have guild vs guild PK wars running rampant all the time, it's a pretty natural conclusion.
Evrylisis may post without regard to how one takes the things he/she says, but nevertheless the words are true. That's like a level 14 saying to a level 75 "I got **** by a random person and he took my items ". Why them when there's bigger game to chase? Your anti-spying mechanism, if you care about it so much, should be your own judgement and that of your ranked guild officers.
As far as I can recall, Evryl is in RQ. RQ would not crumble and die because someone got offended at a forum post by one of their members. Besides, most of them can take things far less personally anyway. You say we flame, but who's the one calling people immature jackasses? Just a thought./Haiku/ -- Cognitive atrophy at its finest.

Actually, trolling is much more fun than actually playing the game.
As for the members of my guild leaving? Our guild will fall apart?
RQ has been around for 4 years and is still running strong.

You are merely jumping to conclusions.
But one thing caught my eyes. If you care so much about level 20s to get drops in fbs then why do you have a problem with a guild recruiting level 20s? A freelance at level 20 can't even find a suitable group at their level to get drops. They are almost always doomed to ask random high level guys to do theirs./haiku/ - Lost City wrote: »What the hell do you care about spies for? Suffice to say, I'm not a jobless forum geek (or should I say troll) like some of the guys here. And its way below me to throw myself in a pointless quarrel with a half grown kid.
If anybody attempts to convince me that spying is useless I'm thankful. If you want to spit nonsense in the thread, you may as well try the off-topic forums. I am too busy to argue with you.0 -
