I've sparsely played PWI last month or so. Tinkered with all the classes really haven't found a definative choice I like to stick with until higher level than 20! Anyway to my questions.
1. I like to Solo alot when questing yet I enjoy tanking when I do join parties, what class(es) should I look into further to achieve my playstyle?
2. What profession is good to lvl up early on and which ones later?
I'm still fairly new to the game, but not new to MMORPGs....

A Barbarian would be your best choice. Being a Barb, I would say being a tailor would be good for you, so you can make yourself good armor, which will be your most important items. However, you can learn all professions at once, you don't have to choose between them0

I would say barb or blademaster. The former is great at tanking, has tons of hp/aggro skills, but doesn't do all that much damage. A blademaster deals fairly good damage and has great survivability with good def/hp and skills that stun, though when it comes to tanking if they don't have a bit of a level advantage on the DDs in the group, they will have problems holding aggro on a boss everyone is attacking at once.
I think apothecary skills help newbies a lot if they don't mind picking up herbs as they quest because of how great things like life powders are in the beginning. 50 hp regen every second is godly at those levels./Haiku/ -- Cognitive atrophy at its finest.

From a WoW player.....
This game isn't about solo'ing, unless you're grinding for mats. Then, you'd want a party of friends who will grant you said drops, if say, you're grinding for Rough Fur. Solo'ing, I save for my mats grinding if not in an all guild group.
The standard kill and gather quests are best for a squad. Remember, I come from a solo'ing mentality.....
But, I squad up when Im after mobs or mob-dropped-quest items.
I like my barbarian. Only true tank in the game, assuming the group is OF level for the encounter. Gets animal form to move around the map faster, humanoid form for grinding and higher DPS, and gets all the chicks (rides).
Professions: Apoc is a necessity, IMO. You'll get the absolute best return on your investment in Apoc. The 3k, 4k health per 30 second 'pizza' items alone are as good as gold when you bite off more than you should be able to chew....
The other 3 are interchanceable, but I'd suggest Blacksmith or Tailor if you go tank. I don't recommend going all 4 until you hit the wall at max rank 3, where you cannot advance to rank 4 until lvl 50.... good dead area to get the other 2 skills up to date.
Thats my .01 (cost of living and all)0
