I've been trying to tame these two but no matter how much I try or how little hp I et it down to,it's just not working. Does that mean they're infested with wraiths or what? And then which kind of snake creature CAN I tame?

In game terms, that's pretty much what it means. They're allied with the evil that is trying to corrupt the world, Wraiths here, Rancour in MY. You can only tame wandering monsters that just live in the area you're passing through and helping people out (AKA traveling and questing as you travel the world).

In simple terms, if it doesn't have a face icon by the name, don't bother trying to tame it. You will always fail because the icon means it's at least possible to tame. If they icon is there, you have a chance of not failing. If it's not there, then it's resistant and you can't tame it. The color of the icon indicates how easy it is for you to tame, and works like an old style traffic light, from Red > Yellow > Green, the last one being easy (These are based on comparing your level to your target). You still should weaken them, since you can still fail if you are very many levels above your target. Green is not a guaranteed success, just that it's a high chance. Don't waste the MP on something very low level (Green face), but still at full hp. Also don't try on a weakened high level (Red face). Failing means the mob will agro on you, which does matter on high level stuff that can kill you very fast. Save yourself the trouble, and don't try to tame Red faces.

It's kinda like Pokemon, in a way lol. Throwing a ball at a full health low level will usually work, but you should still weaken it unless it's just too low and anything you do will kill it, in which case just stand there and take the weak hits and try to tame (Pokemon you would be throwing balls hoping to succeed) or try taking your weapon off and barehanding a few times to weaken it.

    Good luck.

PS: As for if there's any tameable snakes, you'd have to check a database/ask somebody else if you really want one, or just give up your dreams of being a snake charmer. This goes beyond my knowlege and I wouldn't know, sorry.

No offence guys. But I'm a lvl 10 and started today and I know that when you try to tame "Untamable" pets that generally means they CANT be TAMED. Click the pet. THen in the top left corner ur gonna see a puppy smiling. that means they can be tamed. green means low, orange means your lvl, and red means to high for u to tame.

Correct. And mobs that cannot be tamed will not have the smiley face next to their names (when you click on them).

You could try taming the Vipers near Wellspring Village. The Hexa and Penta viper versions (can?) be captured, as can the smaller ones near the river. I've captured most of them (The green smiley faces) =)

But, seriously, don't consider using snakes for anything other than grinding. You'll find that they can't tank as well as others, and the only thing going for them is evasion... And a little bit of damage, I think.
