Quest Finder: Functionality

K I've, been using the quest finder for a while and I have some questions about it.
Why does it keep displaying something like : termproarily disable NPC want to see you.
Why does it repeatedly keep showing me the same person when I click it rather than cycle through the NPCs that have quest? I end up having to repeatedly try again and again to see if I missed any quests because i am never sure if I got em all.
Does the quest finder detect all available quests? Cause i was looking through the PW database for quests between lvl 20-29 and there seem to be a lot more there than I think I've done. Perhaps "temporarily desabled NPCs" could be the missing element.
If possible could someone tell me what quests are normal quests that anyone can do, and which are special quests like festival ones, or cash shop specific type quests. This is a pretty hard task becasue in this game, they seem to have labeled everything as a quest rather than individual services... bank extension = quest for some reason... It seems the quest finder detects only normal quests and ignores those oddities (which is pretty good in my case cause it redueces some confusion) but I'm afraid I might miss some mre important things that I'd like to get...
Could someone explain these to me cause I'm not really sure if its the game or if its just me.
Perhaps the significant difference is the difference in version between the PW database and PWI. (eg. place names and and mosters are somewhat different like Archosaur = Ancient Dragon. Etherblade = City of Ethersword) maybe the quests are named differently or some quest may not be available alltogether...

The temporarily disabled NPC is a known bug that they are working to get rid of.
The quest finder seems to tell you about a random quest so you will sometimes get the same quest several times in a row (and it seems to me that if you are close to an NPC it has a higher chance of telling you about that one).
The quest finder only tells you about level appropriate quests that are not repeatable. For example, if a quest first becomes available starting at level 35, it will tell you it when you hit level 35. If a quest is always available available it does not mention it. There are quests that you can get at level 1 that require you to kill creatures that are levels 20+ (like the pet bag quest that requires you to get 20 hay). These quests are not mentioned by the quest finder. You can usually count on the quest finder to give you good quests to do for your level. Taking quests that are not in the quest finder could be either good or bad so I recommend doing research on those ones before you take them.0 -
When the game version was 16, the GM's promised to fix the "temporarily disabled NPC" bug. Now, the game version is 18 and the bug still remains. Could the GM's really do something about this?0

I'm sure if they said that they're working on it then they are working on it. It doesn't really affect your gameplay in a negative way though so I doubt its a priority and don't see why it should be.0

I am sure it will be fixed eventually, but I have no idea when. It can often take months to fix a bug. It would not be that big of a deal if we had not been spoiled with a quest finder that worked perfectly when the game started. The temporarily disabled NPC bug is a new one that has not been around for all that long.0 -
Its not that much of a hundrance but its just kind of annoying since you arn't ever really sure you managed to write down the coords of ALL the people you are doing quests for. (I always write them down on a paper so I can later put the coords into the map). At this point I set a limit for myself: click the "find quest" button 20 times and if nothing new pops up than you should have them allb:cold*

Nice to know I'm not the only one that writes the coordinates down! b:chuckle0 -

Why could taking a quest be bad?
Sure, I do all the quests (except stuff like one-man-army, I only do these "as appropiate") and I have some that I can't do yet (like the one that I got at 35 and has me kill a lvl 42 quest boss) or haven't done again yet 'cause it takes too long (Den of Wolves boss) --- I reached the 20 quest limit once, but was able to get rid of a few ones so that limit never was a real problem.
The quest window is a bit of an annoyance, though --- in 2008, with 2009 coming up, one would expect a decent quest management. This includes but is not limited to the **** quest finder --- for some reason, F2P games seem to have great difficulties setting up a decent quest system. Which is even more surprising since I've never seen a cash shop item to improve the quest handling.Yindra --- Lvl 64 Venomancer (Sanctuary)
Getting too grindy by now :-(0 -
Why could taking a quest be bad?
I described in my post what I meant by bad. If you take a quest that ends up being intended for players many levels above your current level you end up dying a lot or being frustrated because you cannot find the items you need. You end up coming to the message boards asking for help only to discover that you really cannot do that quest for many more levels. Hence the reason I recommended doing research on them to begin with rather than letting yourself get frustrated. Many of the quests that do not show up in quest finder will just end up taking a lot of time and/or money without even giving any kind of experience reward (the pet bag quests are once again good examples). There is really no point even bothering to accept the first pet bag quest until you are at least level 20 and waiting for level 30 would be even better.0 -
I agree and that's probably the reason why they don't show up on the quest finder function. It'll only locate lvl appropriate quests (and those wierd quests that have you kill bosses several levels higher than you (but they expect you to make a squad for those)). I find that the quests the finder gets you are correct, its just the annoying fact that you have to repeatedly check to make sure you didn't miss anything because it doesn't cycle through the list in a linear fassion (seems like a random chance of selecting one of the people that has a quest for you (or the message "temproarily desable NPC...etc.))b:angryb:cold*
