I have tried almost all of the mirror sites, i have tried downloading the 4 parts and the direct download. The direct download stops at 83% and then the download time jumps to like 2000 days to finish the download. Is there anything else I can do to get this game downloaded? any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance for any who helps

Using the Torrent method with a robust torrent client like utorrent can work wonders.

installs perfectly fine, but once its done installing, its no where to be found o.o

The method for the current Direct download installer is a bit goofy, so it's possible to get caught in the middle of it, and expect the thing to be done. If you used Direct, the steps should be as follows :

    1. The link on our webpage itself gives you the Perfect_World_Downloader_v3.exe file. It's a small (~1.0 megabyte) download.

    2. The Perfect_World_Downloader_v3.exe program will download the Perfect_World_International.exe file. By default, it downloads it to My Documents/Downloads/ (XP) or Documents/Downloads (Vista). This .exe file is the large download, roughly 2.378 gigabytes.

    3. Perfect_World_International.exe, when run, extracts a lot of installation files into a folder. By default, it extracts them into the same folder it is sitting in, the (My) Documents/Downloads. One of the files it extracts will be called install.exe

    4. Running install.exe will give you the option of verifying the client download, installing the client itself, and putting a shortcut icon down on the desktop.

    5. Double-click the shortcut icon to patch the game, or use the manual patcher.

You sound like you just finished step 3, Callysto.

You are a lifesaver, I think I've got it now, step 3 sounds about where I left off.

Hate to admit, I'm terrible with computers, I know the basics, the very minimum basics of keeping my computer alive, and thats about it lol.

I'll give it a shot with this newfound information, as I've allready downloaded the direct, the 4 parts, and the torrent, I think I should be able to manage it somehow lol.

    Thanks again :)

If you're running Windows Vista, please make sure to run install.exe as Administrator (right click, Run As Adminsitrator).

    Windows ME?

    Oh wow.

Ok, send us a ticket here: http://support.perfectworld.com/ticketing

Describe in detail your problems, and include your dxdiag log.

    DXDiag
    1. In Vista, type dxdiag in the Start menu search bar
    2. In other versions of Windows, type dxdiag in the Run command (Start > Run)
    3. For Win XP, Start > Run type in dxdiag, press enter. Click on the button at the bottom that says Save all information. Save the file where you can keep track of it, such as the Windows Desktop.

Attach the text file that dxdiag makes to the email you send us on the ticketing page.

We'll take a look at it and give you feedback on your computer system.
Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

I tried to go through step 4, ran it as the administrator as I'm on Vista.
(seems with Vista not many games like working for me,
2moons, Rappelz, theres a few others, that simply didnt work)
I'm sure its just something on my end, not being computer smart lol.

When I run install.exe as an administrator, I get the
Approve or Decline letting it run pop up,
    I approve, then nothing happens.
lol I think I'm doing something wrong,
Thanks for the help you've allready given and any future help,
its much appreciated, and i feel rather silly for having to ask for help
lol im just not good with computers ^ ^

There may be a delay as Vista prepares the installation, Callysto. Can you let it run for a few minutes, then look through a Task Manager for anything that looks like an "install.exe" or "Perfect World"?

I ran as administrator, and checked through the task manager after about 5 minutes, didnt see anything, I'll try to reinstall, and go through your directions to an exact "T" and see if it works then ^ ^. Thanks again for your help.

You may benefit from turning Compatibility mode for Windows XP on for the Install.Exe file.
