I'll admit I am not perfect so I may have missed the answer in all my searching but could someone please tell me specifically where these drunken poets are? I am so tired of searching these forums and the database and getting nowhere. I need the painting from the hall of deception and I would like to just run in and grab it but no can do. Not quickly. Not solo. I know I will still have to fight the big guys in back and will need a party for this but, if I understand wine correctly, at least i would be able to get right to it. Bosses might even be preoccupied with another party and I could just grab and go. So where is he? Not right outside the portal or right inside. Do I have to go further in and fight mobs I'm trying to avoid anyway just to find the poet? Sorry for the ranting but I am a bit miffed. Someone please advise. I would appreciate it if his location at every dungeon would be shared here to avoid the problem in the future. Thanks in advance. :)

I don't think they're called Drunken Poets. Maybe in another version. Click on the guy at the entrance of the Dungeon.

If this is the quest I think it is, you need to get through the first level and go through the portal to the Hall of Deception. Then give the wine to the npc there. When I did that, the mobs by the chest with the painting disappeared and I could finish the quest. If you time it right, you can follow a party/group through the first level and not have to fight until the last room with the portal in it. I just ran fast to and through the portal, lol.

That worked for me. I got it but it wasn't a poet there. It was an old swordsman. I just would have thought it (the wine) would be done all the way outside. I guess the first part isn't considered a dungeon. I don't know how much help the wine was after all now.

There is another way but it costs you and you have to be quick.
If you use the Illusion stones in archosaur you can teleport direct into Hall of Deception, you then run up ramp to chest and have about 20 secs to get painting before mobs attack you.It costs 5000 to use the stone but thats how I did it.

The Old Swordsman is at the beginning of every FB next to the pillar(s). The Illusion Stones in Arch teleport you directly to the FBs that are appropriate to your level.

It's pretty simple to get that painting. Follow a group who are going into the FB and let them kill everything. Once you get inside, the mobs in the hallway are patrollers. Just wait for them to reach the painting and turn around. Once they get up the ramp far enough, run in, open the chest, and get out. No need to use wine or the Illusion stones.

FYI, Wine is used to clear the mobs out of the FB to make it easier and faster to get to the boss(es). You don't need wine to get the painting and you definitely don't want to use wine when you go get the sword from Gate of Delirium.

The wine mentioned in that quest is something completely different. Once you get the Sword from FB39, you have to get some mats to make the wine the statue wants. That part of the quest only appears after you get the sword though.
