Wizard Question

So I'm a wizard, just turned level 19 (maybe not exactly a noob, but I really don't know much about the game). I'm suddenly finding that the monsters that I'm having to fight for quests (Soldier Ant, Frozen Wolfmaster) are way too strong for me to deal with. Is this right or have I screwed up my levelling somehow? Is it just assumed that I'd be training in a party?

    Actualy this i think is kidna true for most all classes i'm a lv 21 archer and I think I have hit a smilar wall, and my friend a lv 22 fighter also compalins at times too... I jsut think it's a dificulty up bigger pond small fish type thing.

    Also and add on and sorry for the dubble post axidenlty hit the wrong butten but another one of my friends a lv 18 cleric is in the same spot... think more of the more "squshy" caricters get hit first.
