Why is the elf jump/fly quest so much harder than the rest of them? I am not sure how to get up. Does someone have screenshots of where to click? Thanks.

Just in case it's not a joke, if you are using your mouse to control movements, use the spacebar to fly up. Just hold it down and your character will gain altitude.
To find the chest you need, go away from the elder until you can see that it's clear to fly upwards, keep going straight up, watching for a bridge between two trees. There is a platform there with a chest on it, click on that chest and wait while your character "digs" the chest, then return to the Elder. I suggest you go look for the chest before taking the quest. Then you know exactly where it is and can easily complete the quest in the time limit.

    ..........

    O_O

Well at least it gives everyone else a good laugh? I know rude but I can't help it! A friend of mine was in Msn when I first found this post and when I showed her this post... She is a cleric! All I got from her was "LMAO". And she is not normally someone who says that very often! We certainly had a good laugh. Okay it may just be me and my friends but each and everyone of us had a look, at the latest while downloading it, at the videos and characterdescriptions to help us decide what class to take. And it does say there that clerics and archers, the ELFS, can fly from the start while all other classes/races can from lvl 30 after they have completed a quest.

    To the OP:
I apologise please have a look at the videos and or character descriptions as well as press "e" ingame to get a list of every animation you can do.

Thanks for the help. I wasn't sure about the altitude gain stuff.

I have tried to jump up to that point as well when i was bored one day. Can't say I found a way to do it without flying.

btw, i have noticed that you can also go up by pressing the up arrow and go down by pressing down arrow. this also works when swimming!

I knew that holding spacebar would cause you to gain altitude but I couldn't find a button that would take me back down. Thanks for the info Trianos!

I am new myself and it took me a few to get used to the movements of camera and characters in this game. Not really a standardized method by default. The best way I I found to navigate in flight or in water is to hold down W for forward motion and then hold down the right mouse button and use the mouse to direct your heading. This allows you to fly superman-style and still see where you're going. SPACE BAR if you want to go straight up or increase altitude while maintaining a straight-and-level posture.
