Can't find the patch server?

Hello everyone. I've asked the techical support now, but i don't think they can really help me.

I've downloaded and installed the game on one of my pc's and it works great! But i have a brother and he wants to play too, and we want to play together. Alright, i download the game for my 2nd PC.
GREAT, now we can play. I: Install and open the game. Well i have to select my update settings, no problem "Update automatically" of course. Alright, i press "Confirm" and i get this msg: "ERROR: please select an update server" --- Uhm... excuse me, i said "Update automatically"???
Alright, update manually. Wont patch <---- Alright ill try again. Start game ---> Say update automatically and manually select update server. I go into the server list, but WTF it wont find the update server. AARGH!

Now i've reinstalled the game 3 times, i've even virus scanned my pc, removed my internet security and installed new, checked for adware/malware/spyware/trojans etc, AND sent a HijackThis and dxdiag and updateserver list to the techincal support. They cant help me - even tho i had a new updateserver file sent to my pc.

Can ANYONE out there help me?

    Alright i've set in some pictures of the error. First here shows that there is no server to update from - I AM connected to the internet.

    Please make sure the content of C:\Program Files\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International\patcher\server\updateserver are as follows, and that you have permissions to read the file. :

    Oh lol it sure is, i even had a new updateserver file sent by the technical support!

    Gave the file full acces - still not working.

    Right-click that file, and click Properties. On the resulting window, click the Security tab. Make sure that your current username and/or the group Users has permissions for Read, Write, Read\Execute, and Modify (preferably with Full Control), and that none of the flags for Deny are ticked.

    There is no security tab on the updateserver file? By the way - i am a system administrator on my pc - just as on my other pc that works fine.

    get the tasks.data there if you are stuck in that area. Make sure that you ALREADY have the version 16 patch before doing anything else. Thanks to Aryannaveno I was able to play the game once again.

    Also, to complete the procedure, you must go to C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\My Games\Perfect World International\element\data and delete the current tasks.data and replace it with the PATCHED(which the one you receive from the link above!)

    This what I've used to make it work. Thanks to Aryannaveno for being a help. :)

    Are you on a system running Microsoft XP or Vista?

    If you're running XP, temporarily disable Simplified File Sharing and check for the Security tab again.

    Danijelxt, the patch for version 18 was released through the automatic updater last night. You'll want to use the automatic updater, and look through the Sticky at the top of this forum for solutions to some of the more common issues. If you're still having problems please wait until we can get a manual patcher out to the public.

    This only works on the Windows XP professional, as far as i know mine is home edition. <
    Just verifyed that throgh system informations tab :)

    A quick note, we have recently updated the patch servers and it now has a new IP. Several, actually. You can also find this information here

    Patch Server

    Please make sure that you are able to connect to these specfic IPs for patching.     Alright this is getting seriously frustrating. No one understands my issue ---- NOT EVEN TECH SUPPORT.

    GET IT!!!!!!!!! THE GAME CLIENT CANNOT FIND ANY OF THE PATCHING SERVER BY GOD UNDERSTAND IT SOMEONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I realize your frustration. However, by your own admission, the other computer you are running is not having this problem. This indicates that it is more likely to be a problem with your system than our client. In any case, we are doing what we can to narrow down the cause of this problem, which unfortunately means exhausting all other possibilities.

    I think the GM was actually trying to resolve that for you. Considering you can not connect to or find the patching server it is most likely blocked. That is an IP issue so try what he suggested. :)

    How can i check if my system is blocking the IP's?
    And yeah i know my other pc works well, thats why i am frustrated.

    it is no router problem, i have another PC connected to the game right now, through the same router. It is an IP system issue that i cant work out.

    Check your firewall, both Windows Firewall (from Control Panel), and any other software firewalls you have installed. If you've had multiple other computers on the same network have better luck, thankfully we can rule out hardware firewalls unless you've done some rather specific configuration on them (such as blocking access to just one IP or a subset IP range.

    But PrideFight's problem is probably not network related : you should still be able to select a patch server even if your computer isn't connected to the internet or any LAN connection, as long as the data in patcher.ini is right. Something's preventing the Launcher from reading that file, and that's a rather tough thing to diagnose on an XP Home system. I'm still trying to figure out what might cause that to occur.

    It is not only the router explained but also the IP.

    IP Addresses
    You may need to make changes to the software for your router, antivirus software,
    security software, and/or firewall software in order to allow for your computer to
    communicate and send data back and forth to the IP addresses for the PWI game servers
    and patch servers listed below.

    If you are located at a university and are having trouble accessing the internet, contact
    your IT or System Administrators for the school network. Some universities block internet
    traffic and/or restrict it. Ask them to prioritize the traffic for your internet connection and give
    them the IP addresses listed below and port 29000.

    Note: Please read the documentation or help files that accompany your
    antivirus/security/firewall software. You can also research the software
    developers websites that made your software and check to see if they have
    guides and information about how to change the settings in your software.

    Hey hey, wait a sec.
    I tried configuring a STATIC IP, and i got nothing out of that.
    NONE of my 2 pc's are running the game with static ip's so that is out.

    Also i can tell you GM, that it is not the game file but surely my PC. I tried to copy/paste the installed game files from PC to PC still without result, so its my PC b:cry

    A tech supporter also just sent me a new patcher.rar file and i tried unzipping and replacing but also without luck.
    Is there any way to patch behind the patcher file, cause i cant even patch manually.

    Learned to double check that after spending a day downloading Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter.

    Yes it does.
    Here are the specs:
    512mb ram
    2.2ghz AMD athlon 3000+ processor.
    256 mb nvidia geforce 6200SE turbocache (i think)

    By the way i have a suggestion. I could try making a full list of programs that i see in Add/Remove programmes?
