how do you start game

i've downloaded the client and logged in but i don't see anywhere that lets you play, so how do you start up the game? thanks for any help! i'm ready to start playing!:)

    thanks yawning, but the bottom right of where.....the login in page or the client page....i'm getting fustrated!! can you be specific! Thanks for any help::(

    Sorry, I'll try to be specific.

    I run the client, click "Start" in the top left with "Verify" "Manual" and the like.

    This boots the game and takes you to the login screen. Enter your info.

    For me, that brings up my character selection (the pic I posted). For you since you won't have any characters yet, it'll be slightly different, but there should be a create button then once you've done that a start button?

    Can't remember exactly how it went without any characters.

    If you're playing window mode, you may be missing some of the screen. (I was)

    When i click the icon on my desktop a small screen comes up but it doesn't have a start button anywhere, it has buttons like updates,settings, accounts and etc. on the left and on the right it has news.....what am i missing.....is this the client page.....i'm sure if i can find a start button i can get started but right now i'm at wits end!!! what does your client page look like.....all i know is i must be missing something so please try and help!!! thanks

    also to give you a better picture, on the client page, on the far left, i have 3 buttons that are greyed out, they are, from the top, update, manual, and verify,

    flysbe. it looks like you and i and about 3 more recently have been trying to start the game...maybe a bug has cropped up.

    Maybe your client isn't totally up to date? I had to "verify" 2-3 times, then it let me play.

    To do that, click the very bottom left button, Upd.Sets. From the drop down, pick patch, should be the only one. I also have every box there checked.

    Then verify, then try and run. Tell me if it's still not working I'll try to figure something else out in that case.

    You have to pick "patch" in the "Upd.Sets" >.>

    you were right peaceandlove, you have to keep updating untill the update button turns into the start button!! thanks alot, i am now playing!

    i cant find the game anywhere on my computer. ive finished downloading and extracting files. now ive got no clue as to wat to do.b:surrender

    Popros, the installation steps are as follows :
    1. The link on our webpage itself gives you the Perfect_World_Downloader_v3.exe file. It's a small (~1.0 megabyte) download.

    2. The Perfect_World_Downloader_v3.exe program will download the Perfect_World_International.exe file. By default, it downloads it to My Documents/Downloads/ (XP) or Documents/Downloads (Vista). This .exe file is the large download, roughly 2.378 gigabytes.

    3. Perfect_World_International.exe, when run, extracts a lot of installation files into a folder. By default, it extracts them into the same folder it is sitting in, the (My) Documents/Downloads. One of the files it extracts will be called install.exe

    4. Running install.exe will give you the option of verifying the client download, installing the client itself, and putting a shortcut icon down on the desktop.

    5. Double-click the shortcut icon to patch the game, or use the manual patcher.

    You sound like you just completed step 3.

    dude i cant find a start button either and i have no shortcut and it doesnt show up on programs on my computer it only has the stuff in the folder that was dowloaded into and extracted

    WERE IS THE START BUTTON I WANT TO PLAY!!!!!

    Hello , ive dled the client , ran the update and got on for a lil bit then logged off an wanted to relog but couldnt see any start, tried to update the patch again but still not giving me the start thing. would be nice if you could help me please . thank you .

    >< all u have to do is to install the game and update her...when it's all updated, it should appear button Start. And if u manage to get in game...then log out then again unable to click Start ( like u said) maybe u have to update it again ( or continue update) and if that doesn't work, try to check ur update settings (button Upd.Sets.)
    someone said that has problem finding game icon...i think the easiest way to find it is to go on Start on your desktop (Screen) and go on All programs...there should be a list of all programs and games..etc...(on my computer it says...Start-> All programs->Perfect World Entertainment->Perfect World International->Perfect World International ) xD
    or u can go on ur Control panel ( go on programs or something like that) and find somewhere ur game.. OR u can go on (My) Computer->C:, D: ( what ever hard disk u have where ur games and programs r) i hope u all understand what i said and that i was just a little bit usefull :P

    well the thing is that it was telling me that it couldnt make any updates .. cuz ive been trying to update it as i said the previous comments an replies here and tried to do it manually but still nothing. so i just decided to reinstall it and check it out again, hoping it would let me get the updates this time.

    i remember once i had problem similar to ur, but, my computer wasn't working so doog that day (was kinda slow:P) so when i clicked on icon...it didn't wanted to go in game ( not even to open the little window thet usually appears) so i clicked few times...after 2 min it has opend and instead of button Start it was update but i couldn't clicked it ( it was gray-nonclickable) :P
    i didnt know what was the problem but after few min i reallized that i had opened that window few times, so game didn't let me to go in game ( i had to go on Task manager and end all processes and aplicatiions that were conected with game...abd after that i just have to open game one time nad check that i didn't clicked it more then 2 times. my problem was that it didn't showed me that game was runing few times...but i solved it :)

    Press Ctrl+Alt+Del.
    Select Processes tab.
    Shut down the program labeled "Elementclient.exe".

    Btw... please don't necro this thread again.
