"Loving Support" ~ WoTW

My MMO believes in change my friends, but it's not really change, that is more the same, very much like all other MMOs that are "pal"ing around with people who have on-line god/inferiority-complexes. Yet I swear, if you play this game, you will see and feel Loving Support for it.

Alas... It seems as if in (At least Lost World, correct me if I am wrong about Sanctuary and Heaven's Tear) Perfect World, that there is often what I call "Loving Support". There is a relationship between the players and the GMs that are very much like politics, no one is happy.

b:victory
SO, If the GMs one day decide that they were going to slash the prices of every single item by say 80%, give out free drops all across the world, bump up XP rates to 1000% and then spawn random FB bosses in isolated zones for people to kill, there wouldn't be the expected jubilation of all the players in the gaming world, but instead a torrent of complaints: "You devalued my gold!" "You made it so that I couldn't get to my quest because a FB monster stomped me!" "You made it so I leveled much longer than that newb over there" etc... while another side will cheer and say that the GMs are not selfish profit mongering ogre/trolls.

b:shocked
HOWEVER, lets say the GMs do the exact opposite and bump up the cost of all heirogram items and XP scrolls while imposing a 200% tax on telecousters to tax in-game "political" pundits out of business. There would be a raging b:angry-storm as people storm about how the GMs are corrupt and making the game not a F2P game any more and making it so that you actually HAVE to to pay to keep playing a game that is supposed to be free... etc... while others would say "FInally, now I am part of the elite class and it is going to take forever for newbs to catch up with me" and will hail the GMs as farsighted overlords.

b:cryBottom line: Free is not freedom... it seems as if the GMs are constantly in a balancing act, they have to balance the needs of the newbies versus the needs of the power-play elitist who drop $100 a week to say who they killed and how awesome they are at this game while pining to those people who are en masse and dropping maybe $10 a month or / $0 a month to play the game for their personal gain at the expense of the $100 a week people. Alas, to those people who are simply playing this game for free, there seems to be a tight rope that you tread daily between perdition and glory. You will never be as powerful as someone who rolls in their online-compensation, but hey, it sure beats paying for a free game that runs to the expense of 2 WoW accounts a month, who needs to be number one when you can be 1337.

And that is the word of the Week:Loving Support

-Yours,
Dr. Bean

P.S. feel free to correct me on any of these points, but please don't flame me if I seem to point out any people, this is generic and plus, since you have a god complex you will be able to easily infer I am not talking about you, but about the other people who have these egos that gravitate the universe around him while you are the sole hero in this epic that strives to break free from the mold.

Sorry Paige but not everyone played in Malaysia. None of the "Free to Play" games are free to play btw. If you play some other F2P games, you'll really see what unbalanced is. In some other F2P games you can buy cash shop items that 1 shot any and all monsters, or in another game I know of (not naming names as that might be considered advertising other games) you can buy items that increase your crit rate by insane amounts. Hell in some free to play games, you cant even access all the zones unless you pay.

PWI has been great so far, even as I'm starting to approach the higher levels, the amount of content in this game is astronomical compared to a lot of other free to play games I've played. On top of that, it's incredibly easy for players to get cash shop items without paying real money.

I'm so sick and tired of kids coming on the forums and complaining, "THIS GAME ISNT F2P WTF!!!"

In free to play games, you pay money based on YOUR OWN PERSONAL INTEREST. If you want to sink hundreds of dollars into it, you can. If you don't want to sink a penny into it, you're never forced to.

The gap between cash shop users and non-cash shop users is NOTHING in PWI compared to other free to play games. Wake up and realize that.

I second that. My older F2P MMO wasn't as bad as some you mentioned, but you couldn't hope to get past a certain point if you didn't dip into the cash shop.

People here should be glad they don't have to pay millions for just one premium item.

This is the only thing that has kept me off these forums.

It's free. Spend some money in the shop if you like the game. Hell, I've spent 40-50 dollars on **** for other games. This game has entertained me enough to drop some cash in the shop. (cloths, woot being hot!).

You are not owed anything. If you had a job, how long would it last if everyone got everything free?

Same as suggestions I've seen here. Kinda hard to take you serious when you also preach you won't spend money. When did you get owed a game like this?

As to GM's. Why the hell do you need them? Nice to have on some issues, but did you ever think, maybe your issue isn't worth their time? I play a couple games, not WoW, and they aren't needed. Sounds like a persecution complex. Not to mention, do you really know what GM's do in a game? Most have no spawning power and/if are monitored.

If you are bad in the game, you are just bad. Not they're fault.

Lets just say that there is no winners in this world, but hey, isn't that what loving support is all about? Both sides lose face and patience but stick around to complain about it.
