Weapon Upgrades ????

Ok....would someone explain to me why I can't upgrade or add anything to a purple piece of armor and weapon with 2 and 3 sockets ???? I put the gem in the "imbue soulgem" slot but I can't put the equipment there to click on "imbue"...game won't let me put any gear in the slot.....what am I doing wrong here ?????

    I believe you have to have a matching vendor (blacksmith for weapons, tailor for chest/leg/bracer).

    also, i belive you cant have the item equiped...you have to take it off and put in your invintory. lest iv found when i couldnt put thigs in the item slot, when i place in my bag first then try it it works:)

    make sure that the soulgem you're using is at the correct lvl for the weapon u want to upgrade.

    Ahm. Can I make a slot on a weapon I created?

    You can add sockets to put gems in items with a socket stone. These can be bought from the item mall.
