Getting to lvl 3 Blacksmith

Okay, 28 lvl char trying to get 3rd lvl blacksmith.

When I am crafting 3lvl items in Archosaur, I am not getting any movement on the meter.

I have read that you have to be 50th lvl to get lvl4, but is there a requirement for lvl 3?

    Are you crafting weapons or just making the copper bars needed to make weapons? Copper bars do not give you skill (and neither does ammo).

    I'm in the same scenerio, And I made weapons, not just copper bars. No XP at all.

    i'm not sure whats happening there, i'm lv 4 blacksmith and im only at lv33

    I am not sure what is happening here. If you are making weapons that require level 3 skills (meaning they have a copper bar as an ingredient) then you should be gaining skill. And if you are level 33 there is no way you should be level 4 since you have to do a quest at level 50 to even get to level 4.

    Perhaps a moderator can tell us if there is a known bug relating to this and what we can do to avoid it?

    When you are about to manufacture an item, check on the bottom of the window under the required mats list and you should see something along the lines of "Requires level 2 blacksmithing". If you are Level 2, as you say you are, making those items should give you skill points. If you make things that "Require level 1 blacksmithing" then you get nothing. Hope this helps.

    For clarification, if you are trying to get from 20 to 30 skill the only items you can make that will give you skill require either broken yellow jade or yellow jade. If you are making items that require one of those two types of jade and still are not getting skill then you are bugged and should report it so it can be fixed.

    i have no idea about this but i have another question.. where do you find copper bars ? or do you have to manufacture them ? (:
