Skills

After reading through guides I've become sort of confused toward the entire skill concept. I was under the impression that, so long as you have the spiritual points, you could master any skill you desired. However, from certain guides I've read (and it'd be too tedious for me to find them in order to link, sorry), it seems that isn't the case.

I can't really tell if they're merely saying, "don't waste your time with --said-- skill because it isn't worth your spiritual points," or if they're saying, "don't waste your time with --said-- skill because you'll be sacrificing --other said-- skills." What makes me think they're hinting at the latter is them leaving level caps for the said 'not-so-great' skills, and mid-bound caps for 'intermediate' ones.

So my question basically is...is there a limit to what you can learn? And if so, I've severely wrecked my skill distribution, so is there a way to edit them? Without having to resort to the cash shop.

A lot of thread seem to indicate that you get a lo0t of SP --- however, why waste SP and money on a skill you aren't going to use?

Besides, with this I can just sit there and see how things work out. I don't entirely trust these threads,--- since Flyff, from before they killed the Flyff skill system --- I've never seen a game that doesn't make you choose skills in some way.

I don't entirely trust them either; which is why I'm skeptical. And I agree -- why waste SP on skills your not going to use? With that mentality I started spending SP points sparingly in the beginning -- but at the same time I wasn't offered many skills to use.

So I figured I'd just get all the skills I can, upgrading those worth upgrading at the time to up the efficiency of my leveling. In the mean-time I can pick and choose what skills are most effective with the experience of using them. However I then began reading the guides, and like you, I've never come across an MMO that doesn't make you pick and choose skills in some way (that apparently isn't so for Runescape, but whatever).

So far I've basically at least tried most of the skills offered to me because I didn't know how they were going to be. Once I at least try them then I level up the ones worth leveling.

    Alright then.

Since I haven't really gotten much of a response I guess I'll stick with my previous idea. Hopefully if I'm slowly **** my character over theirs a way to fix it... Thanks for both your inputs' kargor and Wrathx

At least throughout the middle game, there are lots of moments where you will not have the necessary SP to purchase a maximum level of every skill. You can -- and, in my opinion, should -- at least get level 1 of every skill, but you'll run into points where it's probably better to not level Garrotte for a bit while instead picking up Beast King's Inspiration. Eventually you'll get enough skill points to buy (nearly?) everything, though.
