Lowering a mounts level.

I want to buy a Panther but I am only level 25.

I saw and heard you can lower the riding level from 40 to 20 with spurs. I can't find any articles or advice on this and no-one in game has been able to tell me.

I saw spurs that raise speed but none that lower the riding level, I was just wondering, are the spurs that speed up the ride the same that lower its level?

    If you mouse-over the Spurs of Alacrity, it says that it lowers the mount level from 40 to 20. I think that's what you're looking for. The other spurs does 60 to 20. b:victory

    Yes, all spurs raise the speed of the pet by 1 and lower the level to 20. The ones that cost 15 gold are for level 60 pets and the ones that cost 10 gold are for level 40 pets.

    Wow! For once I can actually help someone with this.

    I just recently had the same issue with my level 20 Venomancer, Heavyn, and I actually went so far as to submit a support ticket about it.

    Apparently the Pet Trainers and the Pet Manager aren't the same thing as I had thought, and what you are supposed to do is this:

    1. Visit the Pet Manager in the City of the Lost at 245, 645.

    2. Click on the "Upgrades of Ride Pets" option. Make sure you've got the Spurs (the Spurs of Alacrity for getting level 40 pets down to 20 or the Galewind Spurs for getting level 60 pets down to level 20) and the pet in your inventory. From the list that the Pet Master gives you (all the little icons of pets) pick the pet that you have out of the list.

    You'll see that the items needed are displayed in the bottom part of the panel.

    3. Once you've selected the proper pet, hit Start. Then, you'll see a little yellowy-orange bar fill up as the process is completed.

    4. Once that's done, then you can talk to the Pet Manager again and select "Hatch Pet". Now you can actually hatch your pet if you're above level 20.


    I really hope this information helps you, since I know exactly how frustrated I was when I couldn't figure it out.
