Few questions

Alright so I am STILL downloading this game...taking a bit, but its goin I am a player of Guild Wars, Eve Online, Redstone, Diablo II , War Rock, and now soon to be Perfect World. The game looks interesting but I do have a few questions that should be easy to answer.
1) Is this game instanced? ( As in, if I walk outside a town, is a map generated just for me and my party, or is the map all connected, allowing any number of people to meet anywhere?
2) Subscription Plans ( If applicable ) Is it worth it? If so, please explain why.
3) Is this game solo / PvE friendly, or is it mainly PvP?

there is a mini map and a larger map form (m keyboard). on the mini map you can choose to see other people (shown by different coloured dots - i believe green), also you can choose to see mobs (white dots). when shown the larger map it will only identify you.
there is no subscription plan! this game is free, unless you want to buy stuff from cash shop - which can require a large sum of money. depends on the item
this game is all of the above (solo, PVE and PVP) as it is a very LARGE game, you can choose whatever you wish0 -
forgot to add. larger map will identify you and party members0

Thanks for the reply! Just to clarify then, then whole game is one "instance"? I can run into anyone, anywhere, assuming they happen to be in that area as well?0

Few Hours Later:
Got some more questions to go with the above post:
1) Is there a Map Mod that will show merchant locations?
2) What is the max level?
3) What is that source of power called that runs out as you fly? ( Cleric ) and how do I boost or replenish it?
4) Do I have to talk to the right people to start quests, or will they become available to me as I level, and doable without "activation"0 -
1. there is but only on mini map, when you are in town
2. err 100 and something i think
3. its called mp, but cleric doesn't have a source of power for flying - very useful. however the rest of the classes do. you can add more MAG in your stats, or to replenish you can rest or buy mana potions
4. you have to talk to people to start quests.
and yes you can run into anyone and talk to anyone in this game.0 -

Ok cool, I noticed my MP does not drain while flying ( Cleric ) unless I attack, is that normal? My MP drains rather quickly if fighting while flying.
Also, monsters are not killable when I am flying, they heal incredibly fast. Why is that? Is there a way around it?
As for stats and stuff, is the MP boosting one the same one that boosts my mana? I think I noticed a boost but I am not sure.
Lastly, ( So sorry for all the questions ) Do characters need to be based on "builds" to be effective, or what? Where would I find successful builds for character types, and how do I know I am not **** myself up?
I really appreciate all the answers, it really is a life saver0 -

lemme see if I can address those in order.
1.) the wings drain MP at a constant rate, however the Wing Elf Cleric has a MP regen rate even at level 3 that is higher than the drain from flying.
2.) game mechanics to prevent 'perching' aka hovering outside the range of a mobs ability to return attack. the same thing happens if you try to attack a water mob from land or a land mob from water. No there is no way around it (except landing).
3.) the Magic Stat affects both MP regen rate and Max MP.
4.) Yes, and No. Builds can be helpful in maximising effectiveness but are not necessary (depending on playstyle). It might be helpful to check the class specific forums for build Ideals.Perhaps the greatest secret to getting along with others lies in learning to respect their opinion(s) even while you disagree with them.0 -

Thats perfect thanks, its a little bit of a bummer that you cant use flight as an advantage in battle, but it is understandable, does this mean that I will not lose MP if I start attacking a beast that can hit me even though I am flying? Or Will I drain MP even if they can hit me? ( As in if I am combating an airborn or ranged mob )
Also, at the moment I have not found an enemy that will initiate attacks, as I progress will monsters auto attack me without provocation? If so, will multiple monsters simultaneously attack me if they are in range?0 -

on your first point as long as you are using the starting wings for Winged Elf you will have the MP cost for flying. Any skill that requires MP will cost the same regardless. At level 30 you can get wings that do not have the MP Cost, but attacking with skills will still drain MP.
on your second point yes you will sooner or later encounter mobs that will aggro on sight, and if you cross the aggro range of multiple mobs they will all seek to attack you. In any game you are wise to aproach a new creature type with caution till you know how it will react toward you.Perhaps the greatest secret to getting along with others lies in learning to respect their opinion(s) even while you disagree with them.0 -
The towns, and fields are not instanced, there are instance duegeons i believe...
when you fly as an elf you have wings that drain mp like 2 a second,
and wings that dont drain mp at lvl 30, other classes wait ti lvl 30 to get flying mounts..
And half your questions are like really not important. when you play the game you will find
out what mp is, etc0 -

b:angry The questions are important to me because I have yet to figure out the answers myself. I have a limited time to play so I like to gather as much information as possible when I can't play, so that when I do, I am better prepared. b:victory
ANYWHO, so what is the MP drain when attacking in flight? An elf's MP recovery is like 2 or 3 per second right? So at some point it will be possible to attack while flying without losing MP? ( With upgraded Wings? b:chuckle0
