Question About IP Block

Hi everyone,

I just started playing the game and I love it! I have a friend from Turkey, we've played some other MMORPG's before and I told him about this game. He was really excited and wanted to join but then we heard there was an IP block for countries including Turkey. We both were so dissapointed. I don't know what I'll do without him in this game :(

First we searched the forums. Everybody said there wasn't any IP block for europe and only countries from Far East who have their own versions got blocked. A second of hope... But then we found the list with the exact countries who've got an IP block.

The list seemed a little awkward to both me and my friend. Allmost all of them were countires from Far East except Turkey which is very close to Europe (a part of it is even on Europe) It said that countries who have their own version of the game got an IP block. But we couldn't find any version for Turkey.

I've heard there was multi-language european version under development. I beleive its for countries from europe and Turkey. Since Turkey is included in this version, I thought it wouldn't have any block just like other european countries :(

I've heard of a MY version which doesn't have any IP block. But i don't think we can find many english speakers there anymore (I assume most of english speaking players should have passed on the international version) And I don't want to leave this version for a MY one or a multilanguage one.

I've played some other MMORPG and I do know how annoying some turkish players can be (sometimes most of them). And that's one of the reasons why I don't want to leave this version. Some even don't speak english at all and they except us to understand their language. But I don't think this game would get invaded by turkish players since most of them would prefer a nice turkish translation on the multi-language version instead of this one. Only the ones who do speak and understand english and who don't like the annoying turkish players either would come here. (Like my friend :)

I don't want to start a discussion or something and I do respect the decisions of the company but I just hope someone could help me find a way to play this game with my friend or at least give me a nice explanation to tell my friend.

    Ok, I just wanna say that (kindly of course :) ) spacing out lines at times is a good thing, that wall of text was a bit hard to keep my place in.
    Anyway the only way he could play here is to use a proxy, however there is a chance he'd be found and banned (if not, it would lag, horribly, for him). Actually quite a few of the players that were here went back to MY-EN due to the cash shop prices. The problem there is the GMs are corrupt and the game is laggy.

    The multilanguage version I don't think is getting a turkish translation until way later, I believe it's starting in the usual 5 (English, French, Spanish, German, and Deutch I believe). That would be the best bet for you and your friend, because a lot of europe does speak english, the cash shop will be cheaper than here (according to them), and while there will be a little lag, there won't be as much as MY-EN (I know, I'm beta testing another MMORPG where the test server is in europe somewhere and it doesn't lag that bad). That's all I can really say to help you unless your friend wants to move to another country. ^^;

    The interesting part will be whether Europe gets banned from here when we get "our" own version :-( Since in most cases, F2P games don't care about their customers so they'll just kick people without transferring the chars...

    Guess it's best just to wait for the multi-language version. I wish Turkey didn't have an IP block in the first place. I really don't think there's any upside of an IP block on Turkey.

    I really hope they don't block europe too. That would be just awful. How could we call this version an "international" one then. And where's the fun of getting lots of friends from all over the world. I think thats one of the points of playing a MMORPG.

    (And btw, I left some space between lines. Its much better like that. Thanks for the heads up;) )

    Don't worry, the PWE team have said multiple times that Europe will NOT be blocked on this version.

    One last question.

    On the Support page of PW, on the FAQ section, it says "We're sorry, but we are obliged to block certain regions which that have their own localizations of Perfect World". I guess that means some other company owns the rights to turkish clients.
    It can't be the multi-language version since it doesn't reserve its rights on other clients from europe.

    I was just wondering which company shares the rights to host turkish players (and where I can find that versions). I checked Wikipedia (the support section also gave a link to wikipedia for other localised versions) but I couldn't find any locale version for Turkey.

    one game i played we had to make an anti turkz guild coz they got so annoying >_>
    then we got banned for being raciest lol!

    the ip block isnt something they control or they would open up to everywhere

    What do you mean they don't control the IP bans?
    Aren't IP bans because of other companies who own the rights to host players from a specific region?

    And by the way, why did you "have to" make an anti turkz guild? Did they get any less annoying after your guild? lol :D
