    Report for pwigc3.perfectworld.com [64.74.134.31]

This trace was started on Oct 2, 2008 10:51:55 PM.
The host pwigc3.perfectworld.com could not be reached - it does not respond to VisualRoute's diagnostic packets. It also fails to respond to http requests on port 80, indicating that the host and the network on which it lies are both down.Hops after hop 8 could not be identified - this is usually indicative of a firewall at that point. The DNS lookup was completed almost instantaneously (less than 2ms - this may be the result of caching).

Try using nmap, with the command "nmap -p29000 -PN pwigc3.perfectworld.com". That'll tell us whether you can get layer 4 connectivity with the destination server.

Please don't do advanced nmap scans. It is a probing technique as much as a connectivity technique.

That does indicate you've got a TCP link going at least one direction, and TCP tends to be rather good about getting back to where it started. That's interesting, and it suggests application layer.

Do you have the simplified chinese language pack installed?

EDIT: links here for basic pack, here if the first doesn't work. The patcher seems to use a Chinese language encoding for its version of ACK, so that could be a problem.

I'm on Windows Vista the Simplified Chinese Language Pack were for XP the update files for Vista are only for Vista Ultimate, but I don't think that should be the issue, The patcher connects just fine the launcher shows servers up but when i go to login it first shows a window with "Page not found" and then the recent news page, then the login window, which just keeps returning error "Cannot connect to server" and that happens on all 3 servers, I've spent all day downloading and installing this, starting at 12 noon, it is now 1am and I'm giving up, I may check back again tomorrow but I'll most likely just go back to Anarchy Online or World of Warcraft both of which I pay for (I started with free version of AO) and they both work fine. From all the Forum notes all the way back to October of last year this type of issue appears to be an issue this game has suffered from for quite some time so I doubt it's gonna get fixed anytime soon, Too bad, the things I saw on the website made me think I'd really enjoy this game

Well I tried it again today and it still won't connect on my vista system, so I installed it to my XP system and I was able to connect, so it does appear the issue is something to do with Vista, I've tried running it as admin, disableing all firewalls and antivirus and still I can't connect on vista

Could you submit a ticket to tech support with a link to this thread and a dxdiag log?

Hey, im new in the post...but I have the same problem as U guys...
After installing all the game (including the lasts patches) I'm unable to connect to server.
It seems to be a problem with the Windows Vista, because I installed the whole game in another pc with XP and I haven't had any problem with it.
In my pc (Windows Vista) I reach the screen until I have to choose a server, but all the info of the server is null, instead of the pc with XP, I can see the (Ping) and (Status) very clear...I don't know what to do...I tried everything...help me PLZ

Have you all tried setting the Affinity setting of your CPUs to run the game on one CPU core and see if that helps?

    Has Windows updated recently?

Where in the world are you trying to connect from, and who is your internet service provider?

Are you on university property or using their internet?
Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

Doesn't look like I'm ever gonna get an answer on why I can't reach the servers with my Vista system but can with XP too bad the little i got to play on my XP system, (Acually my wife's which is why I had it so little lol) was looking like a lot of fun, but I need to be able to play with my Vista System, I've created 2 tickets now as well as practically living in the forums for 2 days and nothing has helped. I may check again later but I'm pretty disappointed, Vista should not be an issue any more as it has been out almost 2 years now. b:sad

    Vista handles some things differently.

Here is a Vista networking help link from MS:
