After hours of trying to get that data4.pck fixed and actually GETTING it fixed, I was glad.
Installation went smooth, as did updating.
Logging in is no problem either.

But when I click Create, I see the creation screen with a human male for about 1 second and then WHAM I get the blue screen! It's making me quite annoyed to have random things randomly error on me, especially since everything should be right.
I have all requirements, veryfied everything during installation, don't run too many programs at once...
I can't see why blue screen would occur.

Anyone has a sollution? I'm getting quite fried here...

Do you have any viruses on your computer? whenever i have got the blue screen that is usually a reason. You could try doing a scan or to make sure, or download the client again from another location and see if you can install it with no problems. I'm no expert but this is what I would do.

    What was the whole error?

BSODs with XP/Vista are almost always a hardware problem, though it can be drivers at fault.

It's highly unlikely I have any virusses on my computer, but I'll do a scan anyway... You'll never know right?

And yeah, hardware problems are much more likely to be the cause... but I don't want them to be D:
My computer had a really bad crash some time ago and things in there were leaking (forgot their names, sorry... they're those "towers"... transistors maybe?). Not to mention my comp is a bit old, though it should still be working just fine as there are much older computers with equally old graphic cards and stuff working ok :/

if it's hardware problems, I'm going to slap someone... or something... cause I don't feel like spending lotsa money or making my dad look at the comp again so I can play some awsum game...

When you get the BSOD you should get an error message, write it down so we can help you better.

BTW, 400$ will get you a comp that can run any game on the market

at the moment i'm checking the other threads of people with the same problem
seems to be something with ATI RADEON which I have too.... but it also seems fixable

and 400$ won't get me far since I live in Holland/Netherlands, thus it would be more expensive either way and even if I decided to get it cheaper form the interbutts, transport costs would skyrocket...

i wish they never implemented the euro <_< made everything more expensive...

    EDIT: I updated my ATI to 8.8 but still got the BSOD... here's what i got: 0x0000008E (0x000001D, 0xE2825869, 0xF206B88C, 0x00000000)
I reeeeally hope someone can help me with this

Just go back to Catalyst 7.7 if your eager to play PW. Otherwise you can just wait till the devs fix it :D.

otherwise i'll just go... draw or something...

EDIT: going back to 7.7 causes too many problems ;^; so I'll just have to wait....

8.8 crashes instantly in-game. 7.7 causes my computer not to recognize the GPU at all. You could try going back to 7.1 or the latest Omega-drivers for Radeon., if you have x1xxx or older. Worked for me.

    Hi,
I have the same problem, installed client yesterday and got as far as char creation. I see the char screen shortly and then - BSOD. I try updating the graphics driver to either 8.9 or latest omega and will report back.

well alot of my friends are now playing this game and the onlyl ones that have had issues downloading installing and updateing are those that are running cracked copys of windows aka pirated operating systems in other words things have been removed from the os in order to make it run without need for acutally purchaseing it at its ridicolous cost. Also have noticed a few issues with Nvidia cards as they tend to be shoddy on the worksmanship for alot of hte off brands of those. other than that i haven't really had any issues with the game working right other than that random bug that more peopel than just me get in game like missing gold mobs spawning in trees where i'm meditating things of that nature.
    Whys the rum always gone:eek:

Have you recently installed new memory in your computer?

No, no recent changes to the hardware. However I upgraded to Ati drivers 8.9 which does not help. What does however is lowering the resolution from the native 1680x1050 to 1024x768 or similar. I successfully created a character and entered the game ... driver problem I suppose.
