Refning of lower class mats to higher class.

The PW Database site shows that materials higher than Lowest can be refined from the lower level items.

For example Pig Iron -> High-carbon Steel -> Refined Steel etc etc

It also lists separate recipes for doing the refining, but unlike the recipes for other manufactured goods, doesn't list any NPC's where this can be done.

Take Organic Glue for example. Useless at this point, unless it could be refined into Concentrated Glue, but there doesn't yet seem to be that ability.

If this isn't possible now, it would be good to know if it is coming in the future so I know to keep all my lower level materials.

Or is the ability to refine items already available, and i've just been too stupid to find an NPC to help me with it? :D

    Refining materials is done at an URN in Archosaur near General Summer, hope that helps

    Thanks for the reply.

    I had a look at all the urns in front of the General and of them all the materials one is the closest, but only allows me to manufacture Ultimate Substance, not apparently to refine materials from low to high.

    Is there another one I should be looking for?

    I've been wondering the same thing, got really excited at that reply, but spent ages clicking on everything in that area, and not a thing :( The only thing available to be at the twilight forge, was the ultimate material.
    Please help, i need to refine some glue!!!!

    If you're talking about making stuff like pig iron into high carbon steel, you can do that at the blacksmith. Check out the Mat tab in Manufacturing.
    I think you can also make organic glue to consecrated (super glue :)) glue at the tailor.

    So which blacksmiths have a Mat tab? So far i've only seen ones with a Metal tab (for creating Copper Bars etc)

    I've come to the conclusion that the refining of materials is a feature thats missing from the open beta. I'm not sure if other versions have this ability, but it would be good if someone who's been on another version could say yes or no?

    Either that or i'm as blind as a bat, and people here are too tight-lipped to help someone out ;)

    the answer to that question is no, as i'm yet to refine lower lv mats to higher lv ones, and i've crafted alot on the other version.:confused:

    Haven't been here for a while.
    Yup that's the tab.
    I think so far it's only limited to only what we have in the metal tab and others for tailor etc.
