Lag, but only in PW. Also, consistent disconnecting

I've been having this problem for a few weeks now, out of the blue. when I try to play PW on my pc, there's about a 2-3 second lag ingame. If I do an action or if people around me are moving, it takes about that long to go through. Also, about 50% of the time it will disconnect me every 30 seconds or so in addition to the lag. I've checked my settings- graphics card is fine, drivers are up to date, i've got enough space, etc. Everything else internet-wise (including other online games) run smooth as ever. I've even tried re-installing PW periodically, but to no avail.

Is anybody else having this problem? Any tips on what I should try next to fix it?

edit: after the update, it runs perfect for a little bit then goes back to being worse than before.

I have this problem alot too. Sometimes the game runs perfectly fine but others it is so laggy I can't play. I've noticed that it seems to get especially bad in dungeons...I can't count how many fb runs I've been disconnected on. Maybe it's just busy servers? Hopefully the addition of another server tonight will help =).

Please read this stickie and check out the IP addresses section.

See if that helps some of you. Let me know if you have further questions.

You all can also run a trace route to see where your net traffic is getting hung up.

    How to perform a traceroute:
    1) In XP, click on Start > click on Run > type in "cmd"
    2) On this screen type in (exactly as it is typed here): tracert 64.74.217.11
Please note there is a space between "tracert" and "64.74.217.11"
    3) Wait until it bring a message back and a full log. Maximize (enlarge) the window as large as it will go and hopefully all of the text will be able to fit into the screen.
    4) Press Prnt Scrn (print screen) on your keyboard. Open mspaint.exe (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint)
    5) Click on the dotted line box at the top of the left menu to select a section > Click on the white space and press Ctrl+P to paste the image you grabbed with Prtn Scrn
    6) Save it where you can find it, as a .JPG image. Take that image and send it to our ticketing system (http://support.perfectworld.com/ticketing) and let us know it is a "trace route log"
    7) We take the logs and crunch the info through the engineers and get them crackin on the patch issues!)

Please compress all the files into a zip or rar file and submit it to Quality Assurance/Patching, using our ticketing system at http://support.perfectworld.com/ticketing
