Couldnt find similar thread on forum so here goes. I log in fine and as soon as I start the world seems to run twice as fast and my character flickers back and forth between his starting position and where I am trying to get him to move. I Have latest drivers installed for DX, graphics card(8600gts) and I have 2gig ram, 6000+ athlon dual core processor and roughly 180gig hard drive space left so dont think is hardware problem. My ping is around 140ms to server though.
Any suggestions?

I am also having this issue. It is more than irritating, so if anyone knows the solution, I'm all ears. I really want to play this game!

EDIT: Oh, my specs are 40gb HD, 4GB ram, two crossfire graphics cards with 512MB (Sapphire Radeon HD2600pro) and everything is up to date in the way of drivers. I have no trouble with lag on any other MMOs so it's not my connection either.

i have the same problem restarting usually works but sometimes it helps to wait 30 minutes before logging back in.

dont try their ticket system in the support thing. they told me to make sure a certain router port was open. after hours of searching online i could find no evidence of that port even existing on ANYTHING. some help that was.

I have the same problem that is the back and forth with some acceleration.

I found that I actually needed to reboot to make it go away.

I just found another trick: change your resolution in game a couple of times from super low to super high and it should do the trick at least it does it for me. Sometimes if you are in low res putting high res can actually solve the problem.

    I hope this will help!

Just a little off topic. Im really impressed by the response to my query. I play a few MMO's and usually when someone posts a thread like this, all they get is a torrent of abuse i.e. " go back toonline scrabble noob!"
    Way to go PW community:)

EDIT: Oh and having done all suggested remedies I am now able to play Thx.

I'm noticing a trend here... most have AMD processors. I too have a AMD (Opteron) processor and I have the same 'respawn' problem or 'glitch' as I like to call it.
PLEASE have a read over in my post titled "Choppy Gameplay" and see if this is exactly like what you are also experiencing in the game.
    thx.

If you are running on two cores, disable one of the cores after starting the game. I have the same issue and this fixes it 100% of the time for me.

I'm not running AMD, but a multi-core and it has been running choppy as heck since the 15 patch. I will try the solutions in this thread and post the results that I see...

(It seems to depend on the character I am on with, my main character on Heavens tear is unplayable, but I can almost play a lower level char. on heavens tear, and am doing fine with a new character on the new server -lvl.17)

It fails from my laptop as well as my desktop, both multi-core -- I intend on trying the following:

1- reboots/restarts (have never seen a difference yet, but my desktop usually does not reboot)
2- changing resolutions around (I run with everything max on the desktop, hardly anything max on the laptop, but have not tried switching back and forth yet).
3- checking for updated drivers (although I did this just a few weeks ago, but better be sure)
4- changing various settings on the cards (Nvidia and ATI)
5- locking out all but one processor core.

Thanks HAWK - something so easy - yet I've been playing this way for over a week now...

What a world of difference - smooth gameplay!!

Disable your second processor from running PWI.

To find out how to do this, check out my response in Paladdin's "Choppy Gameplay" thread.

So -- lots of reboots, restarts -- nothing for me
locking out one core, this is a sorta fix -- went from totally unplayable, to only frustrating as XXXX.
    Have the latest drivers.
tried changing aa, and other settings on card.
only thing I have NOT tried is the resolution switching, so we shall see....
