Guilds/Faction

Ok, I'm new to online and rpg games. This is the first one I've EVER played and even the first one I've ever looked at. So, what are guilds and factions and are they the same things and how do you get into one?

    A guild (or "faction", in PW) is a group of people usually based around a common interest (or several) who've joined together as a group to play the game together. For example, a group of people who play at night, a group of people who like to PK, a group of people who like a certain tv show, etc. Most guilds state what they're looking for in their threads here, so if you wanna know what one's about, ask a member of that guild or look at one of the guild threads (and if you want to join one, post in one of those threads or ask a member). If you see words over someone's head, that's their guild's name. If you see something like "leader", "director", or "executor" at the end, that's their rank in the guild.

    Lots of games have events like guild vs guild activities aka "guild wars", territory conquering (where you seize an area of land as a guild by fighting for it), and so on and so forth. Something to be careful of is even though guilds are called "factions" in PW, a faction in most games is something different, so try not to get the two confused, lol.
