    1. An Elf Cleric can fight while flying, but he loses the MP needed to maintain flight; it should go without saying, casting spells while flying reduces the MP much faster. Also keep in mind that if the enemy can't hit you, they regenerate their HP.

    2. The Winged Elves start with wings; when you begin the game, there should be an on-screen hot key menu on the side, and one of the selections is "fly." Movement is the same as ground movement, with the exception that the space bar lets you gain altitude, instead of jump.

As Avernus has mentioned, until level 30, Winged Elves can fly by at the cost of MP. However, for a cleric this typically isn't an issue as you will usually be concentrating most of your stats on Mag (formerly known as Int). One of the effects of putting stats in Mag is it increases your MP regen rate. Usually you will be able to increase your regen rate to a level beyond that which is consumed from flying, which essentially means you can fly forever.

Now that being said, whenever you go into attack mode, your regen rate will automatically drop by 75%, therefore, unless your Mag is high enough, there's a darn good chance you'll start losing MP while fighting in the air and you won't be able to stay up there indefinately.

It should also be noted that your attacks are diminished when fighting from the air (at least from what I perceived). You won't notice this penalty when fighting other air-born creatures, but if your attacking something on-land or in-water you usually will. Also, as Aernus mentioned, if you engage a creature that can not attack you in return (it can't reach you), it will generally "lose interest" and walk away and when it does this it automatically regenerates to 100% of it's HP. So in other words, attacking from the air is usually a bad idea unless you're attacking something that's already in the air.

As for flying, yes you can fly right off the bat, but as I mentioned earlier, it will consume MP, so you'll probably want to spend your first stat points on Mag. Avernus already pointed out that you will have an icon on your hotkey bar for flying when you first join the game. I just wanted to add that if you press 'E' you'll see a list of various actions you can drag to your hotkey bar. This includes anything from attacking with your melee weapon, to setting up a shop to sell some of your items, to gestures such as waving or dancing.

    Enjoy!
