*PLEASE HELP* wrong language?? what do i do??

i downloaded the client and the updater is in some other language. i assumed i downloaded the wrong thing so i ordered the client dvd from the website and it's the same thing.

all of the information to the right of the buttons is in english, like the news, etc. but all of the buttons are in another language and i have NO IDEA what they say or what i'm supposed to do.

i'm assuming i'm downloading the updates because of the little bars to the left. every once in a while though i'll get this little popup and then it goes away by itself. it's also in the other language so i have no idea what it's saying either. i don't know if some error is occurring or what.

could someone PLEASE tell me what to do and possibly what those buttons mean? the tab says "Perfect World Update Client" so is this *not* where i will be signing in to the game? if so, when i launch the game, will the boxes there be in another language too? i thought this was supposed to be an english version. i've been trying to get this game running for a week.

    Hi zenrau, Strange problem you're having!, What windows version are you running, is it a native english one?

    well at least now i know what the buttons mean :(


    i'm running windows xp home edition, 2002 version with service pack 3 and i live in the US.

    i read something somewhere about installing an east asian language pack to your computer but i can't find where to download it. all of the ways i have encountered require you to have the windows xp cd but windows was preinstalled on my computer so i don't have one and i don't know anyone that does. i don't know if this would fix the problem or not but it's the only thing i haven't tried yet.


    thanks very much for the screenshots, stripe. if you or anyone else has any ideas about the language pack or anything else, i'd be glad to hear it.

    yes, as far as i know you DO need a windows cd.

    You could download one from your favorite torrent site and use that.

    As far as legal issues go, when you purchase windows you are not purchasing the software itself (read the EULA, it will say that its still the property of M$) what your paying for is the right to use the software. You said you bought a PC with windows preinstalled, so you must have a legitimate cd key/serial. I can only conclude that downloading a copy of the cd for these purposes must be legal, just dont actually install windows (your legit key wont work anyway), or use any cracks(breaks EULA)/serials(you dont own them) that come with it and you should be ok.

    now, the about is mostly deductive reasoning, and may or may not stand up to your local laws etc, so do it at your own risk.

    well i dont know how the hell you got that version but when i downladed it directly from there website trhough there own downloader i got the american version so.... I dont know what to tell you other than try that way and if you still get this werid fugged up one well damn. So my suggestion to on what to for the lanuage packs is this and hopefully you have a cope of your windows disc handy. So go to start control panel, then go to date ,time,language and regional settings. From there click on add other languages, and at the bottm box there should be 2 boxes that you can check check the 2nd one and then click OK. You have to have you disc in to do it though and it will require a restart.after its done. These directions are for windows XP so which i think you mentioned you have. So i hope this helps and if you have any other questions i'll try to answer them the best that i can. In the meantime just try to download the client the way I did it as mentioned above and hopefully you will have the american version soon enough. I will check back periodically. So good luck with all this just post if you have anything else.

    YES!!!! i fixed it! it WAS the language pack. my computer is an alienware and when i looked for the windows xp disc, i couldn't find it. but i looked at all my alienware discs again and one of them said "windows xp" in little writing on it, so i obviously just overlooked it. i installed the east asian language pack, restarted and now all of my buttons are in english. LOL


    now if i can get these updates or patches or whatever they are downloaded. it seems to be stuck on elements.data and i get the little popup file download error. *sigh* maybe i'll get this game running someday :rolleyes:

    listen it usuly happens to stuck on element and task files while update it so in order to go through it is to start over when you see it stucks then you exit client and then open it again and start update again it will pass these files and you update it

    P.S. there is now manual patch to download in same web-page where you download dirrect downloaded client try to update it from that it might get you trough as well and finaly start game

    Please be patient while waiting for the patch to install, as it is somewhat larger than the previous patches. Even if it appears to have frozen, wait a few minutes to see if it resumes. There are processes that are running in the background that compile the patch files but may not necessarily progress the status bar. If it still hasn't moved after waiting for at least three or four minutes, exit the launcher and then restart it and resume the patch; this will usually solve the problem.

    If you are still having problems with patching your game, please submit a ticket to tech support.

    lolz I tryed to play last night game but I went to sleep early cuz I had some time with update lol (I finished it its now Version 13) I just used old trick when I see its stuck I exit client and restart it and do this routine all over untill it updates
