patch stuck at tasks.data

every up date, i always have the same problem, and as i can see, alot of others are having problems with the patch

GM's >=( do somthing plz 0=)
(and yes i have restarted the download a few times now)

10:58 AM :patch still is not working >x( i went to bed after i couldnt get it to work after 2 hrs last night......... any ones else stillllllllll stuck??????

    Don't feel to bad Paige you're not the only one with that problem. I have restarted / resumed the game for over 1 hour now.:mad: Even with all the things checked in update settings it still won't get past that point. Math problems + monkey's = bad situation

    There no manual patch listed, so how are supposed to update the frakin thing..

    This game is starting to be more troble than its worth
    How to change your portrait from ? to you.
    1.) logout, login
    2.) on your login picture click "change" (sample)

    its getting there, theres like 1/10th of the yellow bar left for tasks.data ^^ but that seems its as far as it goes >x(

    maby in a few hrs they will fix it >.>

    the same thing for my elements.data, for the last 20 tries it downloads, then says failed

    *snoring* Somehow this whole thing is getting to be totally more annoying than the lag from the MY version. I understand that everyone is human, but if we created a chat room for those who cannot get into game due to update issues, there would be more people on there than playing. Please find a way to fix this or just start posting the manual patches for us.

    i can only play so many hrs a day, and so far almost a hour n a half, gone
    only have 2 hrs left now....... i was really hoping to hit 50 .. trying to out lvl SUCKaFIST xD hes only 50 ^^ but still, im only at 17% =P

    Fixed the hanging update by simply exiting the launcher and starting it again. Try it if it helps, worked on my two comps.

    i restart download, dosntwork
    exit out of game, and restart it, and that dosnt work either

    happens every time they put an update, finally got past elements.data, now stuck on tasks...all we want to do is Play the game c'mon^^ just got the try again pop up....

    After 2 hours it's gotten up to almost half way and it's stuck on square square square1 square square.dds

    Um bit of server lag vs. total waste of two hours trying to get back into game....... can you guess which side is winning at the moment?

    I think its just that there are so many people trying to download it, i just tried like 3 times and it worked.

    Same like always..stuck at Task.data...but GM's will fix this up im sure..we just have to be patient..Enjoy!!:)

    First time Ive had patch problems in here. Did the same as many others, closing and restarting the download with no change. After I went and resumed the previous download it got through just fine.

    Anyway good to hear the patch servers are being looked at, propably simply just too many connections for the server to handle currently or something

    lol life is like that some times, i bought a new lcd tv and the day after i buy it they started coming out with deals like free dvd recorder :S

    I tried a few times then quit the client entirely, then it updated with no problem........try quiting the client entirely, dunno if i was just lucky or.................. ?

    also if its stuck on weird characters, go into control panel, goto regional settings, then change the default UTF-8 Encoding to Chinese or Japanese, then the characters show up

    Hi,

    Every update, I lose a half day to day of playing time because of the large files tasks.data and elements.data getting stuck. My observations:
    * Both these files are highly compressible:
    ** elements.data, 20530 KB, ZIPs down to 1776 KB
    ** tasks.data, 29913 KB, ZIPs down to 3861 KB
    * For some reason the files are being provided uncompressed, whereas compression would ease much server load and user traffic in each patch
    * The patcher does not validate the download as it comes in, it waits till the full file has been downloaded before checking it, and then starts the whole file again. This is wasteful and a key reason for the problems many users face
    * I have a somewhat flaky ISP, and each time it drops, the patcher thinks the file download is continuing, whereas the file ends up with NULLs all the way from whenever the network glitch occurred, till the end of the expected size.
    * An option to download compressed versions of the bigger update files from the web site would make life much simpler for all users on slower links, and eliminate the recurring issues faced after each siugnificant patch.

    I hope this posting is taken as constructive input, rather than just a complaint.

    In the meanwhile, could anyone who succeeded in patching today's update, please consider mailing out or putting up on a web site the ZIPped version of these two files? Thanks.
