Nuking Veno idea? Give criticism.

I had an idea that I would get my veno a tank-like pet to go in first and to take the damage while my Venomancer nukes. Is that a good idea? What build would be good for that? I'm thinking a build that focuses 1/3 on the pet and 2/3 on the nuking.

Is it a good idea?
What kind of pets should I use? (names please)

    sorry to burst your bubble but every veno does that.

    the tank you're looking for is the crystalline or volcanic magmite.

    If I'm not mistaken, the mage build is what you're looking for.

    Magic: x3 your level
    -Example: Level 20; 20x3 = 60 Magic.

    Strength: (Your Level+8)/2
    -Example: Level 20; (28)/2 = 14 Strength

    Vitality: The rest of your points.

    And Crystalline Magmite. I heard Dodo and Frog are good as well, but they're rare pets.

    Lvl 17/18 Magmite for tanking/pve and Lvl 8 Petite sawfly for pvp ^^

    yeah... that's what threw out off of Venomancers... I hate bugs... even if it's a game, I don't like looking at them... they're not cute....

    if you wanna be a nuker dont trow points in vitality

    Strenght --> enough for equip and weapon
    Int ---> the rest of all your points

    and as a pet use a Crystalline Volcanic Magmite
