Is there a way to change the keybinds/controls? I would love this game if not for 90% of the controls.

I also dont like the strafe option for the "A" & "D" keys but saw there was a tick box to change it to turning.... but the turning SUCKS because it is soooo slow!!

Personally, I have a cilck to move habit carried over from L2. In long travels, I use W to move and I rotate the camera instead of rotating my character.

There's lots of ways to try control on this game, and a lot of them don't require changes. Experiment and see what works best for you.

You could use your mouse, its what I always use. Right click and drag to rotate the camera, and of course click to walk/run.

    ~Edit~

That is if you have one... if you're using a laptop, you might be screwed unless you go buy a mouse XD

Not really, I'm using a laptop and, while I don't really like the key setup, I can navigate just fine.

I just hold the right mouse button and rotate the camera as I'm moving. It took some getting used to, but it's not too bad ;)

Yeah, this seems like a great game and I hate to pass it by because of controls but I dont feel like learning new controls for this.

In every MMO the controls are always a little different but in general there is a least a config file to edit.

Hate to admit it but I am also a graphics *****. While I wont pass a good game just because of poor graphics, if there are other issues with the game I weigh heavily because of them.

Dunno, I am going to play a little more (been playing since beta start already) and see what I come up with.

If anything, I could live with the control is if the turning wasnt so ungodly slow. Once you click that button to change "A" & "D" from strafe to turning its over. The keys become basically useless its so slow.

    Thanks all for the info.

I just hate the 'double click' to do things. I'm used to being able to just right click on something and 'talk' or 'attack' the whole click, wait a second, click again thing is annoying. Just lemme right click it! lol

I did some research on this and so far, no way to change the keys. I was more interested in changing the inv/skills keys, but you have to stick to default, for now. Perhaps that option will come later down the line.

The earlier posted suggestions of using W to move forward and right mouse/camera control works wonders for many of us.

Hope you get used to it soon mate.

I was disapointed when i noticed that there was no way to change the macros -_-

I prefer to put my attack on shift and my pick up on space, makes life much easier.

Its a pain in the ****, but the navigating is fine.

I was lookin around the game options for a way to change the macros, i thought i was a tard cause i couldnt find them rofl, but they're not here :( Sucks.

They seriously need to make an option to change the macros.

I would also like to be able to modify the controls in the following ways:

    - Arrow Keys on keyboard should turn camera (yes I realize the right-click and drag to turn but the arrow keys rotating the camera is a habit in most MMOs I play)

    - Bind skill keys to Numpad (F keys for skills are inconvenient on a standard keyboard)

The graphics really aren't so shabby, especially if you turn the settings up to max (the game comes with settings turned to lowest possible).

The difference between lowest and highest is quite surprising really - and for a free to play game, the graphics (when turned to max) are fabulous :).

How do other left-handers cope with the key mappings?

It is not comfortable having the right hand using the left-hand side of the keyboard all the time. :(

Well, I'm right handed and I use my left hand on the WASD keys. I think it's really easy and, in fact, better than if it were on the right. That way, my right hand is free to use the mouse (or in my case, touchpad) for the necessary clicking. But who knows, I play piano. Maybe that has something to do with it :p
