problems after extract

I have gone to game client download, clicked direct download, waited couple of hours for game to download, then i clicked extract waited couple minutes and after the extract gets to 100 the extract window is gone and the pc just sits their i would expect it to launch a install wizard or the game itself but just nothing, i cant find it in my pc. Everything was pretty normal there was no pop up saying it wasn't going to work so plz help me...

    Check the Download folder in My Documents folder.

    C:\Program Files\Document Settings\ *YOUR USERNAME*\My Documents

    Edit - hmm wait you already extracted the files? and it created a folder right?

    Hi, i have some problems when i extract the files, everything is normal until my computer extracts the data 1.pck it says the file is corrupted and i need to download again but i cant find it neither in the web page so please help me out

    yeh im getting the extracting problem too, gets to 100% then shows me a few errors but it still makes the folder and install exe but when i try to install it it gets like half way and doesnt work at all

    I think after seeing two topics about corrupt files, I think there is a problem with whoever hosted the files. Where did you guys download from?

    I have the same problem and I have already posted on the following thread about it

    I used the direct download tool and got an exe (i assume its a self extacting 7-zip archive) instead of a zip file
    by being an exe I assume that NO 7-zip extractor download is needed.
    the name of the file I got by direct download is Perfect_World_International.exe
    and I assume its hosted on the official PWI server.

    As I see it this might be a problem of double packed files by 7-zip
    as the *.pck files are already packed before they get bundled into the final distribution file that we download

    Please to all those people out there that CAN play the game - I am not flaming and have no bad temper
    I just would like to play like you do - when you do say you just downloaded and extracted and played
    without any problems whatsoever - please provide also propper links and explanations to your method.

    I downloaded mine using the Bit Torrent link on the downloads page. For the patches, I used I think Filefront. I didn't have a problem. Good Luck :)

    thanks so much Silverdreams about your response as much as about your wish.

    now if some1 could also verify the direct download working (OR BROKEN) instead of the bit torrent one
    the rest of us could have an answer to the problem.

    my dd (direct download) took about 8 hours (my line is about 1mbps but the dd avg speed was 90kbps)
    so you can see why I am reluctanct to go download it again before I get a confirmed broken for the dd

    Also - please - if any1 of you nice folks out there havibg the same problem
    with the direct downloaded version and can afford to test the bit torrent described above
    please post your results

    ............i downlaoded it 3 times...... then i extracted it and it still wont open when i open it says "cannot put file in archives and i have a new vista computer............. :[

    If you are experiencing some difficulties running the game using Vista, there are some things you can try.

    Try installing the game in the Program Files (x86) directory to run it in 32-bit mode.

    Try running the game as Administrator and/or changing Compatibility Mode. To run an application as an Administrator, you can right click on the game's shortcut and click Properties. If Run as an Administrator pops up in the first menu after you right click, use that.

    To change the Compatibility mode, go to the Properties of your game, than go to the Compatibility tab and select Windows XP Service Pack 2 or 3 from the list.

    If you want to be exact with the whole Run as an Administrator process, run the game on the account of your computer that has the account set as Administrator.

    Another solution is to disable User Account Control:
    1. Launch MSCONFIG via the Run menu.
    2. Click on the Tools tab. Scroll down till you find Disable UAC. Click on that line.
    3. Press the Launch button.
    4. A CMD window will open. When the command is done, you can close the window.
    5. Close MSCONFIG. You will need to reboot the computer for changes to apply.

    You can re-enable UAC by selecting the Enable UAC line and then clicking on the Launch button.
