Is the server down now?

I am able to connect and play the entire day yesterday, but now I keep getting "can't connect to the server".

I have installed the game 3 times and got to update version 8, but keep doing this. I even tried to connect directly to my computer from the cable modem.

What am I missing here?

    This is really frustrating. I tried everything, but nothing work. Is the server really on and accept connection at all?
