Alright, let me come into this saying that I have a ton of experiance playing Everquest and World of Warcraft. However, with the community of EQ long dead and WoW being more of the same everyday, I figured I would branch out and see what else is out there.

1st Question:
How big is this world? That was my main reason for loving EQ and playing it on and off for about 8 years. I mean, sure no matter where you went it was camping in one spot, grind enemies, and trying to get some loots. However, there was at least 3 different zones or areas you could go to for every single level of the game. Some zones were better than others, but it would take forever to fully explore every zone, kill all the "boss" mobs and find all the loots in the game.

However, WoW was more of a, here is a quest, go here, do this, come back, get another quest. I think this is much worse than just freely exploring but at the same time, some quests add to the story, the adventure, and the exploration.

2nd Question:
Is this game more of a go out and kill mobs kinda thing or is it get quest, complete quest, return to town, new quest, kinda thing? Or is it possible to get exp, good gear, and have fun just exploring and killing monsters and completely bypassing quests.

3rd Question:
I started playing around last night, got a venomancer to lvl 4 and a blademaster to lvl 4. At higher levels are there any dugeons with "Boss" mobs that drop awesome gear or is it more of a crafting system, where you need to collect things and make them with certain skills? Also, lets say I do just go out and grind mobs all day, is it possible for me to get good gear from just random drops or are quests and dungeons needed to get really good gear?

I'm sure I'll have more questions, but this should do for now. I guess I'll go play around some more tonight.

the game is vast, traveling by foot from one corner to another does take time and tehre is a wide range of enemies along the way. questing is your basic first part fo the game, then comes grinding, however with the party system it makes it alot easier for both.

there is a crafting system for weaponry, armory, craftsmanry, and apothecary. its also a wide range, and at a moderate lvl nto to high u can begin making tons of money.

there are dungeons, some easy some hard, but all ahve very nice drops.

you could run around collecting items to get exp, without killing anything, but it takes longer i wont lie. but its fun and the skills are awsome looking.

i hope this helps, your neighborhood Dragons member, check out our forum in guild banter, and have a nice day

It's not as big as EQ or WoW but still very big, you won't run out of scenery anytime soon :). If you didn't like the linear feeling in WoW, I don't think you'll enjoy this game. 99% of all quests you will get in PW is to kill monsters to either A) get items from them or B) kill a specific amount of them. The questing is very linear, you basically can't skip an area and go for any other random one unless you grind XP and gain levels on monsters without questing (which would be useless as the quests involves killing a lot).
    2nd Question:
Is this game more of a go out and kill mobs kinda thing or is it get quest, complete quest, return to town, new quest, kinda thing? Or is it possible to get exp, good gear, and have fun just exploring and killing monsters and completely bypassing quests.

As I previously wrote, you can skip questing completely and just kill monsters. However, this would be useless as the mobs you're grinding are in most cases attached to a quest that you could have been doing at the same time. Basically you run in to town, grab quests to kill mobs outside of town, run back in to complete them and get new quests to kill other mobs. Then when the town is out of quests they send you to another town, rinse and repeat. Sounds really boring but it's a fun grind IMO.
    3rd Question:

There is a dungeon at every x9 level, 19/29/39 etc. Just think of it as a heroic 5man in WoW, it's almost identical. Each race have their own dungeon at 19/29/39 etc but you're not limited to only do your own. If you're Human you can go run the Untamed 19 dungeon for example.

As far as I know you can't get the best gear from just normal mobs in the outside world to kill. You need to kill bosses and/or run dungeons and also do HH. You can craft very good gear as well.

Hope this answers your questions. I've played both EQ and WoW myself for years so I know the feeling to be looking for new online games to check out :) So far PW is a fun game.

Well, I messed around on the blademaster for a little more last night, I really like the combat in this game. The moves are so fluid and blend together well and the skills are just great. Probably gonna end up sticking with this guy.

Now, yes I did notice the very linear quest system, start at the starting town, run to the city, elder quests, etc., now onto the outside world a bit. I guess it's a good thing because it takes away the feeling of simply grinding mobs all day and the quests usually show you in the right direction as where to kill next.

Also, I like the location system, where most of the quests tell you the location and bring up an arrow of where you need to go to return or hand in a quest.

Good game so far, seems as though I'll stick it out for a little bit. Now, a question about the party system and the whatnot.

Now, I know there is some distance between starting points, how would me and lets say, 2 of my friends, go about meeting up to group up if one of us was a venomancer, one of us was a cleric, and one of us was a blademaster? Is there any easy way to go about doing this or is it leg it out and meet up somewhere? Also, can a venomancer do quests in the blademaster town and vice versa? (don't know the names of much yet, still working on it)

at lvl 20 everyone meets up at the archosaur, and you can do quests with others from that point.

At about level 10 you can pick up quests in your home city to take messages to the other two home cities - this gets these cities on your transportation map - so you can easily meet your friends from other races.
