I'm not going to get my hopes up since I'm pretty sure I know the answer... (lol the 2 servers instead of 4 pretty much gave away how you intend to handle this...)
But are you really going to keep ignoring the players about cash shop like Rohan did, and spout that you listen and then not actually listening until you lose 30% population or more??
I'd at least like an honest confirmation instead of RedRyder-style "We hear ya guys" BS.
EDIT: lol just noticed the official price thread got deleted from irc comments lol

It's so true.
There were threads upon threads of complaints from the ROHAN players and zero changes.
Needless to say, ROHAN is now dead.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

i dont want to put more oil into the fire but i gived up myself... i dont even get angry anymore. i am starting to feel that whatever they will do or not do i dont want to play this game more.
yes majority of it is that i got 300+ ping in nearly every part of land and if i would like to watch a slideshow... i would just lunch some powerpoint file lol. aside from that, the remaining half:
1. lies
2. ingnoring
3. "plastic" smiles
4. lvling contest
5. CS prices
6. deleting threads about that
want me to go on...?
thats my personal rants. its just that - if some miracle will not happend (let me remind you that i am atheist lol now read that "miracle part" again) i will leave. i dont care what others think about it (why should i?) its just that i feel sad. had my hopes high at the begining. and all this mess now and then. i am just "yuck" when i log in. so i play for few minutes and log off. the fun factor is somehow.. .gone

I agree, with all this junk being messed up when it really didnt need to be, the game just isnt fun anymore at all. I can kind of understand the lag due to the large flow of players in one area, but that wil lhave diminished by now a bit, and i'm still getting a lot of lag in game, more than i did in the CB.
there need to be a lot of drastic changes here before i think about picking up this game again.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

One day of OB and this is the complaints you have? All games take a bit of time to get settled and some more than other take even longer. Its a f2pmmo what can you ask for...As for ping I was fine at launch with all gfix maxxed even with all the botters and people crowding the newbie quests. Give it some time it will be fixxed.0

First of all, this game has been around for years. All that was changed in this version was the wording of some text.
I personally hardly lagged at all, even in the beginner area.
As for being f2p, this game costs hella more than a p2p game, subscription or not.
If you want to be able to compete at all, you're going to quickly become item mall reliant.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Actually, though the game mechanics have been around for a while, the game itself has never been located within, and this is the key point here, the confines of the North American economy.
I agree with the other poster that everyone is freaking out after one day. First, they did say they were going t adjust pricing for open beta. Well, they didn't lie, they did lower the cost on most items. Just because it didn't suit the needs of many people does not make them liars.
They also had almost a week between when they gave the free zen out in closed beta and we figured out the $1=1 ratio and started complaining before they released the pricing of open beta. Do you think they just whipped those new prices out 5 minutes before open? If you do think that, you are very naive'. More likely, they had some staff meetings and some cost analysis meetings to discuss what would be acceptable in these uncharted waters (aka, the North American economy). It's easy to say "divide everyting by 3!!" as the consumer because of course we want everything to be as least costly to us for the highest return. Duh, who wouldn't.
But, we don't see the operating costs they have to pay. If you think the operating costs here are the same as Cubi over in Malaysia, you are dreaming. There is a reason why you got everything 3-1 ratio when you bought over there people. It's called currency exchange rate. People in America got 3-1, more likely since the Euro is stronger than the dollar (around 1-1.5 ratio normally), that they got an even better deal. Locals in Malaysia got a 1-1 ratio, so if anything, they had it the same. Think on this: If Malaysia weren't IP blocked, because of their crappy exchange rate, they would be paying 9 times what they were used to paying.
Now, am I happy paying more for less. Of course not. But they listened before, and after some discussions, they reacted. I will give them time. Their activity in these forums moving, consolidating, and in some cases referencing other threads players started about this tells me one thing....they ARE listening. Now give them a chance to react.[SIGPIC]http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=2362000&dateline=1220114278[/SIGPIC]0 -

First off, no one is interested in an item mall that is more expensive than the other versions.
Players from other versions came here expecting bigger and better things. The servers were closer, meaning less lag and little to no skill delay. The majority of the player population spoke fluent English, as did the gms and mods. They also came here expecting a cheaper item mall, or at least one of equal value. Setting the prices lower or equal to the original prices in the other versions would be most logical, after all, many players were playing private servers, where the item mall is free.
In a game completely dependent on the item mall (I won't argue with those that disagree. If you do, you're frickin ****, and I don't mean that out of stubbornness), items that are cheaper or sold in larger quantities will bring a lot more overall revenue. As the prices were already quite high for the MY version, it only made sense that the International version would have equivalent or cheaper prices.
I completely agree with you about the costs of hosting the servers here as well as the target economy.
The average American lives much better than the average Malaysian, Chinese, etc.
But the majority of the American players have experience with the other versions. And those that don't, can easily see that the prices are quite steep, and it becomes even more apparent after reading/listening to the conversations of fellow players.
As for changing the prices before OB, the prices should have been set accordingly, or at least planned to be so. The gms should have experience dealing with the player base from other games, it wouldn't be hard to predict what would happen if the zen prices weren't at least equivalent to the other versions.
Yes the US dollar is weak, but any analyst could have come to the same conclusion.
Although I'm positive that the Zen prices will indeed be changed, I'm sure most players are just surprised that PWE couldn't see this coming earlier.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

this treats are goin keep goin and goin ( Once a game is open in certain region Cshop will use the particular money currency) I think i read it in other topics about same isssue if there will be a Euro PW i sure trade will be 1=1 as well)
This is the reason of the country ip blocks. Like someone state it before Malasia people trying buy in INT is 9x the price that for a american same goin other way cheap for america and ero in malasia but expensive for then. I was there and they did not complain about it.0 -
this version is new give them times and also whoever says it has no new content theres more skills then the my version first of all better GM's and more content in game give them time its only been out officialy for a day and a half0
-
1 USD is equivalent to 3.44 Malaysian Ringgits.
Of course they didn't complain when it came out.
That's only 29 cents.
And you guys really don't understand the point of the topic.
It's talking about the increased Zen prices and comparing the situation to a similar game.
It has nothing to do with content.
PW-CN has the same content as this version does anyways.
It also has nothing to do with how long it has been in OB for.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
well like dharok said on the sticky he is looking at all the threads complaining about the zen prices give them a break tho its more expansive to have a business in the U.S then MY. I only hope they drop the hiero prices thats the only thing i bought on other versions0

With every important issue that comes up, they only listen to us enough to do something. The problem is that what they do is never enough. It's always too little change too late. It's like they're just trying to convince themselves that they are being good, generous hosts. If they really are good hosts, then why do they keep making these obvious mistakes that any Joe off the street would be wise to? What is wrong with these people? PWE needs to get a clue.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

I don't think it is very smart to insult the company, while they could have made some better or more wise decisions, the ones they made are what we have to live with for now. They may change things and they may not, we have to learn to live with whatever they decide in the end.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Well, I do agree with you that most North American/European players were expecting most of those things. But, from your own "check list" of things to be expected, we did get less lag, skill delay is non-existant, the English is much easier to understand, and so far, the GMs are well spoken in the expected language.
All of those are logical expectations derived from these simple facts : Servers are hosted in a more stable internet zone (better cons, lower lag and skill delay) and PW themselves came out and stated they hired an American staff to do the localization (hence, better translations and they speak fluent English). I agree, ALL of that could have been expected, and those expectations were met.
Can you give me a logical reason why anyone would have expected that the cash shop would be cheaper or at least the same? Remember, assumptions are not logic, they are only wishful thinking.
I repeat myself with saying, give them time to digest the hundreds of complaints that are being posted in a myriad of ways. You say they should have adjusted the prices accordingly, well maybe they did in their eyes.
While I do agree that the replaceable items could be nudged lower (ie...the silver heiros maybe telestones), some items are actually well priced in my opinion.
Example: The high end mounts (the kirin) was 89 cubis on PW-MY, here is like 35, almost a third (not quite) as are all of the other mounts, almost 1/3 priced. Dolls (guardian angels) may seem pricey for those that choose to die a lot, but we also have something the other server didn't, Binding Stones which allow people to "death protect" items so they don't drop (aka no more lost good items if you are a red name meaning less dolls needed).
On the subject of Mounts, not only are they priced comparably when taking into consideration the 3:1 ratio, but we also finally get the speed boost upgrades which allow lower grade pets to be as fast as non-upgraded top end pets...another missing feature on PW-MY (I am sure they will add them of course...they never seemed shy about only adding cash shop updates, but never WORKING content upgrades).
So it's all in the perspective. Yes, I would like to see the heiros adjusted down. We will use more of them than anything else, hands down. The volume of sales just for them would more than compensate for the lower pricing. But many of the other prices are actually not that bad, considering most could be purchased very infrequently, or once in many cases.
Just my 2 cents.[SIGPIC]http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=2362000&dateline=1220114278[/SIGPIC]0 -

Just my 2 cents.
I see your line of reasoning and I appreciate the way you post.
It has changed my perspective and I apologize if I came off a bit too rash and spontaneous.
I agree with the majority of your points, especially with the heiro issue.
I however, will not be playing PW anymore, I've played the MY version and several p servers and I'm all "burnt out".
Not to mention, I dislike playing f2p games that are heavily reliant on the item mall.
Thank you for sharing your views and best of luck to everyone else.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Insults are what things have come to. We have patiently given them our opinions about their mistakes ever since we found out about the class names and haven't gotten jack in return. Now with the launch of OB, it's actually getting worse. On top of ridiculously high costs for Zen, the servers are flooded. The game isn't playable. I've lost my patience for being nicey-nice. These people consistantly make bad decisions.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I think it was the Shop prices that just blew it for me as well, after figuring on having to spend $10 for a single team run into HH (and then trying to guess how many runs I've had to make to get the mats I needed) I realised I just can't be bothered with it any more either.
So it's no fault, thanks but no thanks PWI - I think I'll just pass the time playing the PS/Xbox games till Aion0 -
No cash shop item should cost over 75% more than it would to buy on PW-MY. Heiros, the most vital, and exp scrolls, the second most vital, should not cost over 30% more.ragingwind wrote: »These people consistantly make bad decisions.

I dunno why people keep saying no lag.
I get lag all the time while playing on LC.
I don't lag when I play WoW but yet I lag when I play PW.

Cause some people, such as me, get no lag? Not everyone has the exact same connection and takes the exact same route to the server, if that's the way the Internet moved traffic it would be a traffic jam. Unfortunately some paths are less efficient than others. Unless the servers are hosted at the same place as WoW's you can't really compare those for lag times. A traceroute will tell you where the problem is though.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I get no lag personally. But still doesn't change the fact

Sounds like the rest of the world, everyone always wanted American Money, but I guess things are changing now, apparently they don't want our money, otherwise they would lower the prices so we would spend it.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I got cable connection and live in the US on the west coast. My connection shouldn't be lagging at all. I can play games with 100x times better graphics and far more player base with no lag at all.

I'm sure it's not your end, but since I have no lag coming from the east coast via cable I'm sure it's not PWI's end either. there's a problem somewhere in-between that only a traceroute will tell you. FYI, you can be next door to the server and still travel half-way across the US to get to it, routing is strange sometimes.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0
