The title says it all. How the hell does combat work like that? Killing blow gets credit? First to tag mob? Most damage? Someone please fill me in, 'cause I sure as hell can't figure it out.:confused:

    I think it is most damage and not the first person to hit a mob.

    i figure most damage. As long as you manage to damage up to at least 50%, you cannot be KS-ed on that mob. Don't know what gonna happen when squad vs squad KS-ing.

    well quiet a few times I managed to out damage a mage(even though mage got first hit) and they still got the mob. Even worse it was during a timed quest -_-;

    I really liked eq2's system where once the mob is hit, it is locked from anyone else (outside of your group) from attacking it, unless you yelled for help. Really nice system.

    What do you mean, most damage overall or most damage in a single hit?

    first to hit and continous damage gets the mob

    someone who hits 1 in the mob 1st and keeps hitting it will get the kill even if you hit harder

    Most damage gets the loot~
    Last hit gets the mob count~

    I think.... well... Sometimes I accidentally KS some wiz.. cuz you know they cast but I don't see them casting.. then I get the last hit.. he gets the loot~ I get the mob count~ ~share exp/skillpoint

    Whoever hit it first gets the kill.

    I love how everyone yells "Killstealing". People take themselves just a bit too seriously. I think some people actually think they are the only one playing the game or that somehow everyone else on the screen knows exactly which monster you are going to attack and then runs to beat you to it.

    The game is new and most people are in the same level range and after the same quest mobs. The areas are crowded. I really doubt that anyone is just out to get you.

    i think you are right. I'm new to PW (but not to MMO's) and playing a Venomancer at the moment. It has happened several times that I was waiting for a particular mob to spawn, and once it did my pet and spell would hit at the same time as another venomancer's pet arrived and a barbarian was getting an attack in as well. it doesn't go on purpose, we just all seem to attack at the same time from different directions.

    The game is so crowded at the moment it's hard to find a quiet corner where you can kill your 8 Foozles without getting in the way of another player. Add in the lag that occasionally occurs and sometimes you'll end up attacking the same mob as others.

    Of course there are always some misfits who behave like that on purpose, but at the moment I think it's mainly because we are all doing the same quests at the same time. It will even out after a while, when people with a lot of time on theirhands will level up ahead of others while more casual players stay further behind.

    At least it seems like loot is designated to the person who got the kill (at least for a short while) so you don't have to worry about people ninjaing your loot when you do the hard work.
