You send your pet to attack the monster you want to lure, use alt + 1 or the pet bar. Then unsummon your pet. Only the monster that your pet attacked should be coming after you now. Ideally, you should resummon your pet before the monster gets to you.

How do I unsummon / resummon him? My pet died last night while fighting a mob *cry* and I used revive pet, lost the mana, but he didn't come back! What am I doing wrong?!!?
Lead me not into temptation... I can find that myself

Press "P" and call the pet out. Or drag it's icon to a hotkey for easier access.

Could it also work if you simply canceled ur pets attack and called it back to you? rather than using up those few seconds to unsummon and resummon? Yes, I too am a Veno noob b:chuckle

    This works:
    http://pwi-wiki.perfectworld.com/index.php/Venomancer_Luring

Short answer: No, nothing else does.

    Longer answer:

Telling your pet to run towards you (on manual) I have been calling 'dragging' instead of luring. If only one mob aggro's on your pet (or more usually if 2 or 3 aggro and that's how many you wanted) then yes, it 'works'.

But it's not a lure - you bring every mob that has aggro'd on your pet, and when you heal your pet they will switch to you (under the usual rules of aggro)

Also, learn to deal with "heal aggro".

When you heal your pet, monsters that have previously aggroed your pet just by seeing it will now come for you. While this can take a lot of damage off your pet, it's not generally a good idea :-)

As long as other monsters haven't aggroed you, unsummon/resummon can always be used to pull the pet out of a group. Do it when another monster spaws near your golem and you have reason to believe you won't finish in time.

As an alternative, you can avoid heal aggro by ordering your pet to attack "the other" monster. Any monster that has been hit by your golem, even if it was just hit once, will not heal-aggro you but keep attacking your golem, no matter how much you heal. I usually do that for the "another monster spawns nearby" nowadays, ordering my golem to attack even before newly spawned monster actually aggroes (there's a short grace period where a newly spawned monster is already there, but not yet auto-aggroing), since my golem can usually tank 2-3 (non-beefed-up) monsters without getting into real danger --- I just have to heal a lot more. In addition to saving time, it can also help in places where you can't maneuver a lot to get to a suitable distance for luring.

I don't know yet whether that also works when they see you using offensive spells on their friend.
Slow progress, game is getting way too grindy :-( Quests I still hope to be able to do some day: FB39, General Feng
