If the zen store uses PayPal to accept payments, then PayPal it is, even if you have your own debit card.0

There is always western union, moneybookers, google pay or whatever it was called, etc. That do not fund evil when used.
Don't worry about Paypal, I used it for years without problems, sell and buy.
