Now that the Closed Beta of Perfect World International is winding down to its close we would love to have you, the members of our devoted and dedicated community, help spread word of the upcoming Open Beta launch by sharing your gameplay experiences with the world. The five members who write the highest quality reviews and post them to as many outlets as possible will be rewarded with phat loot in the form of Amazon.com Gift Certificates!

The rules for this contest are as follows:
  1. Post and submit reviews of Perfect World International on gaming related websites, your own personal blog, heck even submitting a youtube video will earn you brownie points. Basically tell the world what you think of this game and why people should play it, like now!
  2. Post a link to your posts/reviews in our official contest thread stickied at the top of our General Discussion Forum. We will accept submissions for consideration up until Monday, Sept 15 2008 by 2 p.m. PDT.
  3. After the contest deadline (9/15), the Wizards at Perfect World Entertainment will review all submissions and select five winners based on the following criteria:
  • Quality of Review = 70%: In other words, write the best review possible. Be creative, use humor, be specific and detailed and most importantly paint a colorful picture on why playing this game rocks!
  • Quantity of Reviews = 30%: Post your reviews to as many online outlets as you can. Be sure to correctly link the sites where your reviews are posted in your submission thread. Any links not included on your submission entry will not be considered.

Prizes will be awarded as follows:

Top Prize = $100 Gift Certificate to Amazon.com
Runner Up = $50 Gift Certificate to Amazon.com
Bronze Medalists (3) = $25 Gift Certificates to Amazon.com

So have at it. The contest begins right now through Sept. 15. Winners will be announced within 1-2 weeks after the close of this contest. Questions? Feel free to post any to this thread.

Suggested sites for websites to submit and post reviews to:

IGN
Gamespot
OnRPG
MMORPG
GameOgre

Social Networking:

Post reviews on your personal blog, create a Youtube video review, your MySpace or Facebook page, etc. For Facebook submissions, please post on your own profile, as well as on the Perfect World International Official Game Page.

These are just a handful of our suggested and recommended sites to post your reviews. Feel free to post at other sites that you feel would be appropriate. Remember, 30% of this contest is based on the number of sites you submit reviews to. Good luck and have fun!

NOTE: To be eligible to claim a prize you must be older than 13 years of age and reside in the United States, Canada or Europe. Employees of Perfect World Entertainment are not eligible.

Cool. Anyone who sees this thread will now have reason to believe half the positive reviews out there were just written to win the prizes.

To me, a good review is one that point out the good and bad points of something, not some kind of sales pitch...But hey, that's me.

Also wondering, why don't you give in-game items as prizes? I'm pretty much sure players would enjoy winning a high level aviation or mount, some fashion, or even some ZEN.

It's a good way to get the game known tho. The more people hear about it, the more players may come here and try the game.

a 'good' review kinda oxymorons with a review doesn't it? I've gotta agree with karmelia on this one.. I'd rather read a truthful review that points out all the bad areas of a game than read some fanboism brainless advertising.. but then again, that's just me.. :/

youtube vid you say.. that's good..

I'm sorry, but 30% is for posting on various sites? Does that mean one has to write like one review per site (aka not quite the same) or can they copy or paste, because I know if I type a review for a game, I tend to do it in like notepad or word first then send it to the usual places.

If you submit your review to multiple outlets - feel free to use the same version over and over. The point of this contest is to have you guys share your thoughts on this game to as many sites as possible.

all the places i go to have fun good luck

The Review for the Closed beta of Perfect World INT

    By:chase hardison AKA: hellkingZ

Ok to start this off im gonna say that from the start it is fun. Why you might ask and here is a few reason's why its

like a free vr. of wow. Ripoff you may say but its not like wow as much as you can say ripoff. Like its the the cheap

**** vr. of wow for ppl that dont like to pay to play or just would rather have fun in there off time.

Classes: I only played as the barb and was a tanker with 2kHP it was cool but i did check out the char makeing system and it

beats all other games out there. Its better then City of hero's/Villions. From what i hear the cap is at 105 which gives you

plenty of lvl's to gain. From day one i was in a guild of this and we are all vary active some to much which proves how

Good this game is. Leveling is not easy if you grind most XP comes from quest. They have a really good quest system that I

didnt know about till about 5 days into game when i was grinding and they also have a coord locator so if you cant find them

you put it in there and a arrow appers you can have up to 5 of these.

Next ill talk about Game play I myself have not had any lag but there are a few that did not many to be a big problem.

With the endless amount of jumping you can do it has wasd moving controlls. The boss battles in dungen are cool and if you

have guild or friends it is fun you have to be lvl 19 to get the quest for a 3star wep in your first dungen must be

leader of party. Making items is done and can have good or normal outcomes.

Funny things that i have heard about seen are the gm's ban ppl for bottings. The lvl 90 boss killing me was pretty funny seeing

as i was only lvl 10 and found him playing around. Swimming is cool and it has flying and riding your friends as long your a girl.

Things i would like to see added:
1.able to ride anybody so travling is faster.
    2.mp3 player added.
3.Bigger guild system we had 50 in less then 3 days
4.less Time to wait for a TW 100hrs in guild is to long if we are good lvl's
    5.more people in parties.
    6.No Bots ever!!!!!!!!
^_^ good luck on that one GM's look for me ill find you your evil bots and if i find a dumb bot site with it ill report it to you

well besides not really being able to grind unless your in a party its my fav. game that is free
I give this game 4/5 for the longer lvling system and not having what i liked it got 1 point taken off.

Gee, I'd love to write a review, but every time I log in I get an "incorrect username or password" message. HMMMMM. Hey, would be great if there was some explanation for this. Then I could write a review.

Can't write a review if you can't get in the game.

It's fascinating that there is still not official fix for this problem.

Some pervs will think wrong when reading this :D
3.Bigger guild system we had 50 in less then 3 days

Level 3 guilds can have 200 players in them.
4.less Time to wait for a TW 100hrs in guild is to long if we are good lvl's

This is to prevent guild hopping. Personnally, I would like to see it upped to 7 days.

I'm glad to see that the admins are tuned in to the opinions and needs of their userbase, and have provided us with a fun event that everyone can participate in to win. This is in line with the wonderful public relations our admins have displayed so far, and it definitely shows their dedication towards improving this game and its community.

Keep up the good work you have my full support.

    (Original contest post)

Hmmm sound more like cheap marketing to me. It looks like they don't want to spend money on advertisement so they make a contest with cheap prices...cause whats 100 dollar? And this will lead that players write good reviews even if they don't like the game in the hope that they win a price...BAD OVERALL! I saw already 3 reviews on pc.ign with a 10 for graphics. Sry but this game deserves a 7 for graphics cause its good for a free mmorpg (current one of the best graphics if you look at those games), but certain not an 8+ cause its not Perfect. Also the constant repeating sound isn't that good certain not a 8 someone gives it . If they would add more diffrent musics it would be lots better. At last a 9 for gamplay...seriously its only grinding in this game so a real magazine or site that reviews this game woudl give it a overall rating of 7-7.5 max (also because the game is F2P) NOT A 9+....And it isn't time for a full review yet cause the game isn't going for it full release..

Why don't you make and post your own reviews ^_^

Game appreciation is like movies. I've seen movies with good reviews that bored me to death, and some with bad that I liked.

First of all, your review does not have to be "good". Meaning if you want to write a review for Perfect World International, and give it a poor overall score, this does not disqualify you from the contest. Be honest in your review, don't sugar coat the game, tell it how it is. ;)

I tried that yesterday with an admin and was completely ignored. Why should it be different now?

Sahrai, admins are extremely busy individuals whose responsibilities extend past these forums. You cannot expect a response to every single PM you send to an admin.

I respectfully disagree. I sent a message to the provided email address stating my opinions about the PWI's names and have never gotten any reply, even one telling me that I was wrong. However, I sent a message about a glitch in the forums that did not let me login and got a reply very quickly.

EDIT: I sent my message about the names before the forums were even available (in case that matters).
