Can't log in: Incorrect user name or password, solutions?

    why does it matter and my bro showed me the game he made an account a day before me and his works and mine doesnt

    I've been playing for the past 2 days and all of a sudden (an hour ago or so) I get no ping on either server at the login screen and it times out. My firewall isn't an issue.

    Is there a new update or server maint. or something I'm missing?

    ** also, I get a cannot find server page on the news section of the patcher window.

    ya thats what i want to know too,i dont want to keep waitin and then just be able to get into open beta.

    Please try changing your password to something that is 8 characters or less.

    Post your results here.

    We are trying a variety of things to resolve this issue, but require some of you guys to test out some possible solutions. ;)

    I lead a Guildwars guild, and one of our members linked to the official site for this game. Several of us thought it looked "pretttttttty" and I found that onrpg.com was still offering beta keys, so we got those, and signed up a few accounts here yesterday. (Spent last night downloading the client.) Different username/password combinations were used for signing up on onrpg than those used here, for obvious security reasons.

    We can log onto the site (obviously) but not into the game. We've tried both usernames, but ALWAYS receive "Incorrect Username/Password."

    If there is any other information we can provide that will help find a solution (since there are obviously a lot of people having issues), I'll try and get it to ya asap. Thanks!

    *Edit: My password is under 8 characters. Not sure about the others.

    I was linked directly to the website by a friend.

    I've tried the 8 character solution and it did nothing.

    I've used caps in my password, but I'm going to try it without now. One of my friends who accessed it without a problem did not have caps in his password.

    Update: I restarted my computer and changed the password before I tried to log in again and it did not work.

    I also did a number only password that did not work.

    And I tried, when logging it, to only use the "safe" box, meaning I only clicked my password rather than typing it and it did not work.

    Next: Change my account from the launcher, meaning go to my account from the launcher button "Account" and change it there, close out, and try to log in.

    I will also try a 6, and a 4 combination passwords.

    Update: I tried the 6 character password and it did not work.

    I, at the log in page, opened up the "password safety" link, were it took me to the webpage. I closed out of it and it tried to automatically send me back to the game. Yet any time I clicked, it took me back to my desktop. Meaning it showed the game up, but didn't register that when I clicked it was on the game page. I had to go to my desktop, close out of the game manually, and then restart.

    I also tried to log into the broken server (I believe it is Heaven's Tear), and after is says server is offline, log into the online server, but it didn't work.

    Notes: I do NOT have a Beta key.
    A) I don't know how I would receive once.
    B) I wouldn't know what to do with one once I got one.
    C) My friend who showed me the game logged on without one and without any issues.

    I do not know how to register a character from the website, as someone on this forum mentioned something about that, nor do I know if it is possible.

    Next: I'm slowing down here and running out of ideas. Um....

    I'll try a letter only password. And think of something else... =P

    Update: Just a quick note. I noticed there was a "West" and an "East" option at the top selecting a server. I attempted to log into the "West" since I was always logging into the "East" but it did not work. As I tried several different things, including attempting to use my nickname. At roughly 6 o'clock when I attempted to log in, it stated "attempting to log in" and didn't do anything else. I left it for over a minute and nothing still happened. I canceled and tried other variations, both valid and invalid passwords and usernames, but nothing else happened. I assume it was because of an update, considering the forum has changed slightly. Well, back into the fight!

    EDIT: When I go to log in, the "notice" about welcoming and all, it has changed to say "Page cannot be found". And I still cannot log in. I'll keep you posted...

    Update: After fiddling with options such as "update" and "select server" and such, I trying to log in again. This time, the Notice said "Page not found" for about 2 seconds before changing to the text it originally had.

    I will post what version I have (1.3.8?) as soon as I can double check, along with the other number (2253?) in the bottom right corner.

    At the moment, I'm running the verification scan which will take some time... :(

    I'll keep this updated...

    ive now tried new account with different email account verified etc still no gd incorrect username or password tried changing passwords no gd i really hope this can be fixed as i think the game could be really gd fun and its free but just coz its free dont mean we deserve to have these problems fingers crossed guys we can sort it.

    The verification did nothing. Though when I checked "safe mode" it went back to the "logging in, please wait" box and did nothing. Same on both servers.

    her im new i bearly download the game yesterday and it says password or username wrong and i already changed my poassword wats wrong with it?

    Hmmmm, I, since I didn't have one before, added a Beta key and I can get on. Maybe change of Beta key? :confused:

    I have the same problem I looked at this game looked great but wont play. Whats the step in fixing it????:confused:

    Don't think so. As I said, my friends and I are having this issue with keys from onrpg.
