Will Etherblade/Plume City Servers open at some point after open beta starts?

Hi! I couldn't find an answer to this on the forums, so I apologize if it's been asked already.

Will Etherblade/Plume City Servers open at some point after open beta starts? Either like halfway through open beta, or when Perfect World International goes gold?

The reason I ask, was because I had been planning on playing on the "West" servers Etherblade/Plume City. I would like to know if I should wait until those servers open (if they open in the near future, like a month or two, or at all,) to create a character and play. Or if should just play on the ones scheduled to run at the start of open beta.

Well, as i understood it, they didn't start the PvE servers for CB to stress test their servers & to test both open PvP & PvE at the same time
But since there will be no wipe after OB, they will have to launch all 4 servers on 2nd september, or not launch the PvE servers at all.
PW has been endless frustration for me #2

They probably thought that 4 servers would be too much for the current player base, so they reduced them to two.

They will open other servers as need arise I suppose. If that need come to be.

(We are still waiting to see any improvements or changes beign implemented. More empty promises from PWI?)

You are wrong, they are only planning to launch 1 pvp and 1 pve server at launch. They are supposed to be setup to incorporate all time zones, but I too would like to know any ETA on the other 2 servers since that is where I was planning to play aswell.

IF they are planning to launch only 1 PvE and 1 PvP server (when did they say this? link please!) then they will still have to launch either Plume City or Etherblade, cause Lost City & Heaven's Tear are both PvP servers. Also, why did they put all 4 servers on the patcher minisite/ingame if they don't plan to launch them?

I could've sword Etherblade was a PvP server...

... anyways, the Open Beta will see the opening of all 4 servers. Not to worry.

Yeah, that's great. I didn't say it would happen right away, but we'll get the 4 servers when the first 2 start getting populated.

I see. Well, looks like we are going to end up with 2 overpopulated servers and 2 half-empty ones yet again. Why? Simply because after some time new players will be recruited by old ones and those new players will want to play with the old ones = more people on the servers that were launched first. Those who found the game on their own will go to the less crowded server.. most likely. But the question is, which group will be larger, the "recruits" or the "volunteers" :p

I'ts a little worrying that they are only looking at one timezone.. if the east/west servers will have a time difference.
Lets say u started to play on the east server but you actually live on the west coast, then eventually you'd have to start over on the west server to enjoy the events?

Also are they actually going to try and set the time on the east servers so european players can enjoy TW also?

All I have to say is good job on keeping it down to two servers! Best move ever.

No I'm not being sarcastic either, only two servers will be better. I think it should be one in central and one in east as well, don't really need one for west. East accommodates the Europeans and central can be used by everyone in the USA with good ping. Boo west, its overrated.

It's not a big deal like I mentioned any way. East Territory War times, just means that players in the West who work or have school on Fridays will miss it on that day, but I'm sure everyone else in the guild will make up for that lack... The same could be said for Territory War on Sundays. People in the East who need to turn in early for work the next day can do so and let the players from the West in the guild take up the slack.

Anyway, my only concern was if I should wait to play or not, but I probably won't be able to stop myself. :p:p:p

They finally saw the logic in keeping the playerbase together. With 4 from the start there would still be at least one underpopulated server in all likeliness.
I really really don't want to see PWI pull a stunt like RF where they will end up with one populated, one half dead, and one practically dead server down the road.

all i want to know is if they will only have one pvp server, or if they do release a west server. if they do use the second server at a later date, they should make it identicle to the first server.

I think because they have 2 spare servers, that they could in time open another 1 PVP and 1 PVE server both.

Maybe another reason not to open all 4 at once (beyond concentrating the populations and server cost/setup and needing many gms to deal with the initial infux) is that they need to see if both PVP and PVE servers will have similar demand. 2 PVE and 2 PVP servers may not be set in stone. If one server is being overcrowded and the other isn't, we could end up with 3 PVP servers and 1 PVE server, or vice versa.

So confused by this east/west server business... :S oh well

Hmmm maybe they'll realse the other servers when they've fixed those as well they may only realease two that are 'fixed' edited ect and work on making sure the other two are up to scratch then release thm later?
