update server connection fail

Ive downloaded the game and installed, but when the launcher starts it says:

update server connection fail
please try other update server


but on the update settings there's only 1 update server available called patch

im running Perfect World client on Vista Ultimate x86 ad administrator and my firewall is disabled.
is there a way to check the status of the update server? The launcher shows some servers as up (Etherblade and Lost City), but it won't mention the update server.

If I try to log into the server anyway it tells me my client version is too low (1.3.9)


it would be nice to have a page with the servers and update servers status, and also a way to download and update the client without using this obscure launcher

    I think they are working on the patch server, because its down for me too and worked before. So you just have to be patient.

    on the client there's a 'manual' option
    do you guys know if this is intented for a manual update? and if so, is there anywhere we can download the update file?

    No that option is not available at this time as far as I know.

    lame...first i get ip blocked because i was "logging in from a area that currently hosted and had a licensense to host in my domain" now patch server fails :rolleyes:

    I guess I have the same problem as well.
    Took some screens to make it easier to see what the problem is...

    Opening the game...

    Starting to download.
    Then it continues with verifying client version.
    And then end it all with Connection fails

    ...I'm getting this problem to.
    ...I'm running on Vista 64 Ultimate. I play lot of others games and MMO and dont have this problem.

    ...Anyone know what port this game run? I want to check it to open this door on router!

    i believe the update server is really down... don't think it's a closed port for you..

    what is really missing is a status page so we can trim the errors instead of imagine all possible options :)

    it gets really hard to pinpoint errors and bugs when there's isn't a way to isolate them

    can there be manual patch downloads so that we can patch manually from now on?

    that would also save bandwidth since the patch would spread to file sharing services..

    if the dev team is worried about losing control and people including viruses on patches u can narrow the download only to the main site, create a torrent for each patch instead, and make the launcher run a torrent client to update (Blizzard download style). That would save you guys tons of transfer and make the updating process not so centralized as it is right now.

    i'm having the same issue. was having data pack errors before and now i'm getting this error after finally getting it installed. :(

    ya.. it seems that the client they distribute is a broken zip.. but fortunately the torrent fixes the download...
    now we only need to wait for the update to be fixed i guess....

    as long as i don't have to re-install the client again...i can't deal with another installation error. i can just wait patiently for them to fix the update lol.

    well.. we are still on beta :)
    some dificulties are to be expected, right?

    guess i'm going to download florensia beta while waiting for some update solution....

    Same unable to patch i'm on XP Pro SP 3 how long are they down or am i bugged ?

    ur not bugged i think its mainence..but im not downloading again..i downloaded 4 times cuz each time for sum strange reason my internet explorer wouldnt work i had to call dell and everythinig...but i guess ur right about problems in beta...but y is the server light red but theres ppl with theese problems?

    yeah, i had plenty of problems installing this game too... at least they could set a time for when the update server is open, so we have any idea? Im probably just gonna look for another game instead, this is BS...

    yeah same here its not working but awhile ago says my Game Version is '4' and i tried Verifying it and that function doesn't work either sighz....
    i figured other apps wudn't work if u press 'Start' in the launcher menu and the game doesn't pop out, to fix it open up task manager and end process elementclient.exe. :/
