Perfect World (English) A Scam?

I'm just curious, and sorry I didn't know where to post this, I don't know these forums very well =x

But, I was on deviant art {an art site}, and someone posted a screenshot about perfect world and thats how I found it. Well I googled it and found this site, and Perfect World (English) from cubizone?

Anyways, I noticed here I don't see anything to do with cubizone, and when I tried registering with that site it asked for my Identity Card/Passport Number, is it just me or is that super suspicious? Plus, I tried logging into their client with my activated closed beta ID, and it said that the password or username is wrong.

Honestly, I'm afraid of registering an account with them, because what they ask sounds like identity theft. I've heard that excuse of "We need this information to make sure you're an actual human being" from people who've had their identitys stolen.

Can I trust them? o.o I'm still uninstalling their client and installing the one here {Cause before I didn't realize they had a zipped file on filefront}, but I still wanna know if its a scam or not =\

Perfect World ( English ) MY version is Malaysian Version. <- Cubizone
Perfect World ( English ) International is International version ( obviously ), hosted in USA.
So no, it's not a scam.

I can assure you that any registrations or downloads you do through Perfect World's USA website is certainly not a scam.

    LOL wow man...

You've never seen the same game being hosted in diferent countries by different companies?

And for the record cubizone has VERY bad customer support.

whenever games ask for that info i usually just put a bogus number (reasonably easy to remember for me) .
I dont see why you would need a proper id number as it is just a password reminder/security question.

When I signed up for MY-EN, I just put random numbers (read: 123456789) and it worked.

Several people have already answered this question but I wanted to confirm for you.

You downloaded the Malaysian version of Perfect World.

I hope you enjoy Perfect World International. ;)

    Hi all!
After traveling for a few months and moving I went to log into PW MY and my password didn't work.
I did pw retrieval at Cubizone and it was down...it said to contact customer support so I did.

4 MONTHS and I still cannot get into my account or Perfect World.
I sent over 30, all including the information they require (ie. name, email, server etc)
and all the scant replies I got back was them asking me for the info I always include in the email I originally sent...even if the last email was in response to the request.
Giving the same info over and over and over again.
Finally they just said they couldn't help because they needed my "passport".
When I asked what a passport was I got an email requesting my info again.

I was told that the only way to get any help was to submit 10 photocopies of my last item mall money purchases in the lat 3 months.
HELLO?!I haven't been able to log in for this long. Who they hell do they think they are?

The last response I got wasn't one asking for my info again...it one was telling me my IP was banned. Nice, huh? I guess thy got my money so that's all that matters.

PW MY was hands down the worst I have ever encountered in my entire life.

Just wanted to pipe in and warn!

malay/korean sometimes ask for passport as they only want customers from thier country playing (and only 1 account each) and try to use this method as a prevention from gold mining/seller accounts, i have seen it in a few games and it is legit, never seen a USA based server need it , it is not needed for this version
