What's Buddha's Hand for?

I got an item from a turtle called Buddha's hand that I wanna sell, but do I need it later?

    Sell it, you never need it for any quest.

    Ah yes, that item.
    The creators shouldn't put such an ''epic describtion'' about some trash items, makes you wonder if it really isn't something useful >.<

    I believe Buddha's Hand was formerly used for a low-level Dragon Quest, which is no longer in the game.
