I really the version of the intro music that sounds like a Massive Attack version of the PW theme. Unfortunately, it alternates with the original version of the theme. ^_^"
Graphics are still really amazing, and my ping time for both servers are 15ms (vs. ~330ms on average on PW MY)
The fonts are very clear, and the interface menu has been polished, and text boxes increased in size so text would not overlap. I like all the translations. Though, I wonder why a couple of presets for the female winged elf cleric are named "homely." Homely, basically can connote the meaning "ugly". Nice how there are a few not as Asian looking presets which aren't Asian faces with Causian eye color and skin.
Out of the box, the item mall seems to have a different item set available from the start, especially mounts, we will start with the Kylin and Vicious Raptor at 40 gold, and Chubbs Elephant, and Sika reindeer at 20 gold, all at 10 max speed. Items in general seem to cost less than half (than MY server) in comparison to replenishables like hierograms (3 for a silver). Still need to know Zen to real currency conversion though...
We will seem to have wardrobe stones and cupboards stones also (additional storage page for materials and fashion!), in addition to the inventory storage stones. We can also lock our warehouse with a secure code!!!!!
I really like how there seems to be a lot of GM presence at the start, ready to answer questions. Hopefully, this trend will continue.
To MY players, if I recall correctly, MY closed beta started with a lot less... and MY has already "gone gold" and still has buggy patches (re:latest update which really needed to be loaded on a test server first before distributing).
I think we can expect a lot more from PWE PW International, once it goes open beta and gold (including the PVE servers), especially with GM support, and quality assurance of the servers and the clients. ^_~

Very informative post there, nice work. I'd like to see more posts like these then the same complaints all over the place.
I logged out because at the moment a lot of people were fighting over mobs, I'll wait till it dies down a little.0 -

Hello, You have reached Severan on The RQ carebear's automated phone system
To tell me I've got no life and I live in my mom's basement, press 1. To tell me that you are logging on your level 90 character to kick the **** out of me, press 2. To tell me that your friend is a GM and you're getting me banned, press 3. To tell me RQ is going to fail and talk more **** about RunQuick press 4. If none of these options fit your need please hold the line for idiot assistance, they will be with you shortly...0 -
When lots of people are fighting mobs, it's best to ask for a party to finish those beginner quests faster! ^_~ (Especially those red bugs in Elf starting city were in high demand.)
This is a random screenshot I took before I logged out. Not really in an area to display the beauty of PW, but to show 3 gms in the Elf area helping us beginners.
GM Party:
I'll try to have real screenshots in the screenshot and video section if other people don't beat me to it.
Have fun at work!!

Postive point - I found out how bad the support was going to be before I wasted time playing.
Alot of the positive points you posted are about the game itself which the gms here have nothing to do with. You can go play malaysian version and have all those positive points and more with a hell of alot better service.0 -

Hmm... I am reading this wrong, but you are saying you haven't even tried Perfect World International having not "wasted time playing" and are making an unsubstantiated comment? I am not sure what you mean by better service, without going off topic in this thread, and listing all the bad service points of Perfect World Malaysia, including bad patch control, very limited events and GM support compared to Perfect World China, etc.
Anywho, if all things were equal like all servers should be, then I take a 15ms ping over a 330ms ping any day.0 -
I played Malaysian PW and I had no lag at all, even if I had a high ping, I dont know if i did, but no lag at all. and the GMS did not pull **** like this.0

Okaay. I've read all your posts. It seems there are two points that you had brought up that you are mad about.
1) They started the closed beta test servers early than on time. I remember on PW MY, the servers were delayed months before opening. They promised in PW MY and made us wait months. SO you are much happier with a server that was delayed months, than a test server that was opened like 2 hours early? (Not only did the GMs miss by months their time for the start of open beta, they also were mistaken in their promises of wedding availability, and Frozen realm, and released many faulty patches that took weeks to fix. Did you also forget about the bot and gold selling problems they have on PW-MY also?)
2) Your second point was that PVE server was not enabled in closed beta. I didn't see anywhere that they promised a PVE server for closed beta, though they did promise PVE servers for open beta and beyond. I am also very disappointed by the lack of a closed beta PVE server. However, I have nothing against participating in a closed beta, even on a PVP server. And remember, PW MY has only 2 PVP servers. If you really want PVE, then you may as well wait until open beta when they will be available and your characters won't be wiped either. ^_~
Sorry everyone, for responding off topic on a thread that I started myself.0 -
Price on cash shop items is actually mixed. In general prices are lower but some thing are much more expensive. Of course, it does depend heavily on the Zen/dollar conversion rate.
Specific significant changes
-Mounts are much cheaper here (like half price)
-Wedding is cheaper
-Dragon orbs are slightly cheaper in bulk. The 3* price is kind of stupid at 6 Zen since 10 of 1* makes a 3* and it costs 4.5 Zen only
-Dyes are cheaper
-Trumpets are cheaper
-Dolls are cheaper
-Tienkang/Tisha (Etherbarrier/Terra in MY) more expensive
-1 week pet book is much more expensive at 5 Zen instead of 1 cubi. Possibly because of the legendary pets later, which can't drink water
-Flight tools much more expensive for faster ones
-Inv stones and pet cage are more expensive
-Crafting materials are more expensive in general.
-Fashion is generally more expensive
This is all assuming a similar ~20 Zen/6 dollar rate so the rates could change greatly.
Overall, it's pretty much the same game as MY version except the translations were done by a person that was fluent in English instead of using Google translator for the translations. That part is nice. There are some unpolished aspects such as way too many NPCs have the same name, such as Hu (at least 5 or so in the City of the Lost).
As for all the class names/skill names/etc, people will get used to it. Same way the people who used to play MY-CN got used to the new class names in MY-EN. In MY-CN, the archer class is called mg (short from Yu Mang, etc.), the healer class called yu0. Over time, the new players will use the new names and people will get used to it. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if the dungeons are still called FB19, etc.0 -

SEAWOLF, nice post. I am one of the head translators for PWI.
Thankfully no dungeons have numerals in their names anymore. I translated them all personally.
Your point about all the NPCs with similar names is valid and I will look into that further.
I hope everyone will eventually be very pleased with the English in PW:I. Also, I encourage everyone to have patience with the ZEN shop. The prices and cost per Zen are not yet absolutely set.
BTW, i recognize you from various SC websites peace0 -
Just for those who do not know:
FB refers to the tablets/quests recieved at every 10 levels (starting from lvl 19, so 19, 29, 39, etc) for dungeons and is short for "Fierce Battle".
I know, don't ask. That's just how it is. *sighs*.... xD
As a question:
Was Tusk Town really how it was supposed to be or should it be Dusk Town?
I know it was Town of Dusk in MY and Mysterious Altar in JP(Japan). Just double checking.0
