Help me Upgrade my PC!

Greetings to all! blessedlove!

If you are a king of experienced in upgrading computer give me your opinion what graphics card i should choose. I'll be going to a store to see what card they have. I already went to one, they had ATI Radeon for PCI. As you will see my pc is PCI.

Tell me what i can expect if I upgrade and if it will be a good choice to do so. Like maybe the computer will get too hot if i upgrade etc. Because the computer is recommended for Home Use.

I have played Rappelz in low settings and I didnt care because it looked great like. Only that just couldn't see the trees. But Perfect World i don't know what i could expect in low settings.

No Trees? No Grass?

Rappelz in low settings had grass but not long just on the floor was like green grass and the color was really green.

I know some games in low settings even remove green and you only see sand.

Anyone tried low settings in other PW servers?

    i played with low settings on PW MY, with medium textures or w.e because the armor looks like **** if you have anything lower then that.

    I would recommend just getting a whole new computer.. but that's just me.

    No cant buy new computer, not rich.

    Only want to upgrade graphics card.

    i hate the 'blur' effect or what ever it is. Gives me a head ache X___x

    if i was you i would focus on ram since you only have pci i dont even know if you can buy them i would check if you got PCI E or agp i would assume you have atleast 1 agp

    Looking at the system specs for him, RAM is the was to go. It's hard to find a PCI card, and with the Intel Extreme chipset, it should run fine as it takes system ram, and the minimum requirement is 32MB video ram

    yeah the PCI is a problem, that why they asked me at the store what color the slot is.
    But they do have PCI cards. Like i said , ATI Radeon

    sorry but PCI = screeeeeeeewed. There just is no way you can get past that. You need AGP at LEAST. Even AGP is being phased out already.

    youre better off buying a new computer, u can get a fairly good gaming computer (hell atleast better than the compaq junk you have now) for like 600$

    there are people suggestin u to buy RAM, which is the best solution there is if u insist on not buying a new omputer, HOWEVER bear in mind u have a compaq, which means 50% of the RAM u buy in computer stores WILL NOT WORK. This is not just compaq, but all the brands in computer building such as compaq, Hewlett Packard, and what else ... They force u to buy RAM from their website

    YES I AM DOOMED! I called the store and they told me that they sold all the pci just the saturday that have past by. people are still buying pci cards? Well I want to buy one, I know a friend has one somewhere in his room maybe. But better new then second handed. Because that kinda friend of my was and still is a addict gamer. especially in strategy games. Which I dont like.

    I wont upgrade. I just leave it. Dont care.

    game look good on this site on a same graphics card then mine.

    I dont care with graphics. Its the gameplay. Game just got to be fun.

    PC prices dropped a lot the last years, and i think it's pretty easy to build a new, very decent PC for around 500$. So save some bucks and enjoy. (Although i admit that 500 bucks is still a lot of money to cough up)

    Forgive me if this might sound like Im being a little worried about the child youll be babysitting. I dont assume your neglective or even someone who gets more entwined in a game than watching a baby, But please be careful while you play the game and have the baby in the room with you!!

    Babys can get out of your sight faster than it takes to look down and back at the screen, theyre gone! Unless the baby is in a seat and buckled down for sleep or feeding. But make sure you keep a close close eye on the child in question!

    Like I said dont take it the wrong way, just trying to help ya understand that playing a game can suck you in and the time passes so quick you dotn know it! Thats enough time for a baby to get in to trouble fairly easy! So please be careful doing this!

    Remember, this game is always gonna be here when you decide to play or have time, but a childs life is something that cant be replaced if something horrible goes wrong!

    Good Luck, and i hope your PC works out fine for the game. If you can however get a PCI card, I would suggest you use it despite what others say, its better than onboard anyday, but you will probably not see a huge difference unless the card in question is superior to your onboard chipset! RAM is also great, as well as a decent connection. But honestly, PCI has been dead for well over 10 years now, AGP has been dead for about 3 too!

    Buying a new PC through newegg.com and having possibly a buddy help can cost less than some have priced on here. Especially since DDR2 RAM is cheap (almost less than $25 a gig!) and buying a motherboard with atleast a NVidia NForce4 PCIe slot at a 1000mhz front side bus will do fine for the next 3 years till DX 10 and NVidias new PhysX grfx card supportive games will come into play a lot more. Right now anyone with a NVidia Series 8,9 graphics card can now unlock PhysX through NVidias mainsite, well worth it and its free! Anyway Im rambling again,heh, good luck and hope the game works for ya.

    Oh my god, throw your pc out. It's not worth wasting any money on that at all, it's entirely obsolete.

    I suggest you build your own pc, prebuilts are a complete ripoff. Compaq, HP, Alienware, and eMachines are the worst of the prebuilts.
    You can probably get a decent pc for around $400-500 building it yourself (maybe less if you really skimp, which I don't really advise), depends if you insist on quality or not and where you skimp out. Make sure you buy reputable brands with good warranties (and known for good rma warranty service).

    I use www.newegg.com usually for buying parts.

    OH NO! I feel bad, I was just joking ambushmartyr. But she is still little. And she will have her seat when I am going to play. Thanks for tips. It is good that you are concern. Keep it that way, because there may be some day someone say the same thing, and you never know if it is a kid. I am big enuf to know what u said.

    just buy a new motherboard/ram/cpu and power supply and put it in your existing case. Thats the cheapest way to get a new pc.

    You can buy motherboards with onboard geforce 7050 and 7100 graphics, so you dont even need to buy a seperate vid card right away.

    but it is awesome but never mind thanks for all the help. I'm not a real all-time gamer, I just sometimes get the feeling of playing mmorpg and then i look for a free mmorpg.

    The reason i got this computer was for skool, some years ago. I still dont know why this computer dont got PCI express because the year it was made pci express already came out.
