Look i don't know if this was supposed happen, but i got a virus trying to update the PWI client.

I clicked the patcher icon on my desktop and BANG, kasparsky went mad on me. The names were jxhgjh and hrhjhxh or somehing like that...

Again, i don't know if these are game related files, or if it's a problem with my pc, or maybe the patcher is infected, but please resolve this issue quickly!

And for the rest of you, be EXTREMLY careful. If anyone managed to update without getting bugged, post here please so i could atleast know that it's me having the problems and not the software. Ty.

    about kaspersky. Well its not a antivirus for gamers, because it always wants to track the tracker (like the game server). Its too strict when it comes to network pinging. But it can be fixed. Dough its not as tough as zonelabs security center that really banns everything that it doesnt recognise so you have to allow everything you wanna use first before activateing and even then sometimes it still wont work properly, but its also a perfect security service as everything gets caught.

    Most likely not game related. If you got it from the game, we'd all have it. The virus files were probably triggered just by detecting some kind of specific network activity. From the file names, I would say it looks like a Virtumonde/Smitfraud/Vundo infection.

    There's plenty of removal tools out there online. The trouble is, the processes bind themselves to critical windows ones, so you can't simply delete the files. The removal tools should prompt for them to be removed on rebooting though.

    ANyway, the unfortunate thing about AV software is most of the time you can't trust it. I guess if you downloaded a torrent it may have been infected with something off someone elses system. But if you did a straight download you should be safe.

    torrents can't be infected, unless they have been started as infected files, wich, as the devs uploaded the torrent, is rather rediculous.
    Torrents check themself, they know if the data they received is correct or not, if not, they redownload that little part.
